Overview of Job Function:

The ideal job candidate will have several years developing Java applications on both Windows and Linux operating systems. The work requires being able to design for and diagnose issues in complex distributed interactions in multi-threaded systems. The application has to accommodate for potential system failures, network interruptions and flaky devices while also addressing testability and security requirements. The work often requires addressing issues remotely through networks: This implies high degree of personal responsibility as well as a strong sense of quality of work.

Job Metrics

- Develop key skills and knowledge of Verint applications
- Timely development of product enhancements
- Meet quality gates for deliverables
- Documentation for technical designs and specifications
- Mentoring Intern Engineers
- Contribute and own the design, development, testing, deployment, and monitoring across Verint’s software product offering
- Ensure high quality standards (functional and non-functional) of the work being delivered for customers consumption
- Develop features using best practices and ensure they fit with the architecture of the product
- Communicate potential risk areas along with proposed solutions wherever possible.
- Logical and structured thinking
- Connect and collaborate with the technical and business team members spread across time zone and culture for a larger goal and strive to win as a team.

- Though not directly customer facing, the role does require collaborating with customers to develop new features and resolve issues.

Mandatory

- Bachelors or masters in computer science with 4 to 6 Years of previous work experience in Java (need to be really good), JSON, Apache, Tomcat WMI, IPMI, Netstat, OpenHardware Monitor, SNMP REST, OAUTH, SSL, XML
- Understanding of OS core concepts like interrupts, multithreading with an exposure of Windows Server and Linux
- Need to be extremely good with understanding of protocol stacks . Developed protocol stacks in past or worked on network analyser in detail. Need to be comfortable about every bit and byte level detail of the protocol.
- Strong familiarity with network protocols, monitoring utilities and monitoring protocols such as SNMP, REST APIs and/or WSDL/SOAP.
- Experience of service observability for cloud scale applications through a SaaS based data analytics platform like DataDog, etc
- Relational Database experience

- Exposure to security architecture and frameworks
- Knowledge of design patterns in a plus
