Ai Public Policy Manager, India

Meta is seeking a highly specialized and experienced Artificial Intelligence AI Public Policy Manager to lead our AI-related public policy initiatives and support programs and research This role requires demonstrated technical knowledge in open source AI technologies with the capacity to coordinate with key stakeholders such as governments researchers developers technical community international institutions and think tanks The position will serve as the expert on AI within the India Public Policy team and externally providing technical expertise for product counselling and regulatory matters AI Public Policy Manager India ResponsibilitiesMonitor state-of-the-art AI research in India and run programs of grant funding joint projects and data collection efforts in partnership with leading academic and scientific organisations Translate the latest research from Meta Fundamental AI Research and Meta GenAI organisations images video text audio and other modalities for policy and research stakeholders in India Drive adoption of models and datasets outside the Llama family amongst these stakeholders Produce research and contribute meaningfully to discussions at BIS Sahamati iSPIRT and ONDC Open Network for Digital Commerce around standards such as Beckn and DEPA Data Empowerment and Protection Architecture so as to advance adoption of Open Source AI in global DPIs Digital Public Infrastructure Oversee and technical monitor a wide variety of open source implementations in collaborations with Business Service Provider technical partners external contractors and also internal government departments to deploy open source AI in e-governance and in development projects especially those for people with disabilities and the elderly Collaborate with researchers and cross-functional partners including communicating research plans progress and results Independently put together technical sophisticated demos of various Meta open and proprietary technologies in the fields of development small and medium business and also e-governance Lead and manage a team Minimum QualificationsBachelor s degree in Engineering Computer Science Public Policy Hard Sciences Economics Political Science or a related field 12 years of experience in research public policy government or regulatory agencies including focus on AI Experience managing a multi-disciplinary team Experience communicating and presenting to technical research academic and policy audiences effectively Proven track record of success in communication with experience engaging both internal and external stakeholders Technical knowledge to independently create a RAG Retrieval-Augmented Generation application using an open source model to perform a domain specific task continue pre-training or initiate fine-tuning of any open source model and use R or any other open source tool platform to perform regressive analysis on a number of datasets OR have equivalent knowledge and experience for example build a reference implementation of any W3G W3C IETF IEEE or ISO standard Preferred QualificationsAdvanced degree Master s or PhD in a relevant field Experience working with international institutions and think tanks Proven track record of managing complex technical issues and initiatives related to AI and their relationship with a wide variety of policy
