We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Loan Processor to join our lending team. The Loan Processor is responsible for managing and processing loan applications from start to finish, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion. The ideal candidate will work closely with loan officers, underwriters, and clients to collect necessary documentation, verify information, and prepare files for approval.Key Responsibilities 1. Reviewing Loan Applications Receive loan applications from customers or loan officers and check them for completeness and accuracy. Ensure all necessary supporting documents are collected, such as: Identity proof (Aadhar, PAN, Passport) Address proof Income proof (salary slips, IT returns, bank statements) Property documents (for secured loans) Business documents (for commercial loans) Identify missing information and coordinate with customers or sales teams to collect pending documents. 2. Verification & Validation Verify the authenticity of submitted documents through in-house systems or third-party verification agencies. Check CIBIL scores, credit history, and repayment capacity of applicants. Validate employment details, income sources, and financial statements for accuracy. Ensure that all provided data complies with company policies and regulatory guidelines. 3. Coordination with Stakeholders Act as a liaison between loan officers, underwriters, customers, and credit analysts. Work closely with the sales team to resolve application-related issues quickly. Communicate regularly with customers to update them on the status of their loan applications. Coordinate with legal and valuation teams for property verification in case of secured loans. 4. Preparing Loan Files for Underwriting Organize all loan-related documents into a complete, structured loan file. Prepare summaries of loan applications highlighting key details like: Loan amount requested Collateral details (if applicable) Repayment capacity Risk analysis Ensure the loan file meets the company’s internal compliance and credit policies before submitting it to the underwriter. 5. Monitoring Loan Application Status Track loan files at every stage of processing and underwriting. Provide timely updates to customers about approvals, queries, or additional requirements. Follow up with internal departments to ensure faster turnaround times (TATs). 6. Compliance & Regulatory Adherence Ensure loan processing follows RBI, SEBI, and company-specific guidelines. Maintain strict confidentiality of customer data and documents. Keep up to date with changes in banking regulations, lending policies, and credit norms. 7. Resolving Customer Queries Address applicant concerns regarding eligibility, documentation, and loan timelines. Explain loan terms, repayment schedules, interest rates, and applicable charges in detail. Build positive customer relationships by ensuring a smooth loan application process. 8. Reporting & Documentation Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all loan applications. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on loan processing, approvals, and rejections. Share reports with branch managers, credit managers, and senior leadership for review. Required Skills & Competencies 1. Core Skills Excellent attention to detail for reviewing applications and verifying documents. Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple applications simultaneously. Effective communication skills to interact with customers and internal teams. Good analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate creditworthiness. 2. Technical Skills Knowledge of loan processing systems (LPS), CRM tools, and core banking software. Familiarity with financial statements, credit reports, and underwriting criteria. Understanding of MS Office tools, especially Excel for data management and reporting. 3. Behavioral Skills Patience and persistence when handling incomplete or delayed applications.
