Robotics Engineer
At OrbitAID Aerospace, we're pushing the boundaries of in-space operations with sustainable satellite servicing powered by orbital refueling. We're looking for a Robotics Engineer who embodies the CHAD mindset — Curious, Holistic, Analytical, and Deep-thinking — to design and develop the advanced robotic systems that will fuel the future of space sustainability.
If you're passionate about creating robotic systems that solve real-world challenges in the harsh environment of space, this is your opportunity to make a lasting impact on the global space industry.
What's in it for You?
- Impact with Purpose: Your designs will directly support orbital refueling missions, reducing space debris and extending the lifespan of satellites.
- Career Growth: Lead groundbreaking projects, gain hands-on experience, and grow into leadership roles with clear career advancement opportunities.
- Innovation at Your Fingertips: Collaborate with cross-functional experts to solve complex problems, where your ideas are valued and implemented.
- Competitive Benefits: Enjoy a compensation package that rewards your expertise and dedication.
Your Role
- Design and develop advanced robotic systems for autonomous satellite refueling, applying expertise in real-time embedded systems and motion control algorithms.
- Leverage tools like MATLAB, Simulink, ROS, and Gazebo to simulate and analyze robotic behavior in microgravity environments.
- Explore and apply cutting-edge technologies in robotic actuators, sensors, and space-grade materials to enhance performance.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to ensure seamless integration of robotic hardware and software systems.
- Develop resilient fault-tolerant designs that ensure autonomous operation and adaptability in unpredictable space environments.
- Apply your understanding of microgravity dynamics and robotic manipulation to optimize the refueling arm's efficiency and reliability.
- Perform rigorous simulations and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing to validate algorithms for trajectory planning, collision avoidance, and force control.
- Conduct comprehensive environmental testing (thermal, vacuum, vibration) to guarantee system durability and compliance with standards like ECSS, NASA, IO, or MIL-STD.
What We're Looking For in You
You're a Problem Solver: With a Bachelor's/Master's degree in Robotics Engineering, Embedded Systems, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, you excel at tackling challenges with innovative solutions.
You Have Practical Experience: Proven experience in robotics development with expertise in real-time embedded systems, sensor integration, and motion control algorithms.
You're Curious: You have hands-on experience with robotic arms, manipulators, and autonomous systems, and are passionate about advancing robotic capabilities in space.
You See the Big Picture: You understand the operational goals of space missions and design robotics systems that optimize performance and safety.
If you're ready to help us shape the future of sustainable space operations, we'd love to hear from you
