Position: Quantity Surveyor Engineer - EstimationLocation: Company Head Office – MumbaiDepartment: Estimation & CostingIndustry: Building ConstructionExperience: Minimum 4 yearsEmployment Type: Full-TimeQuantity Estimation for all building construction works. Prepare detailed BOQBilling & record keeping. Checking and bill certification. Conduct rate analysisAnalyze construction drawings and technical documents to estimate material, labor, and equipment costs.Strong knowledge of QS Work. Key Responsibilities: 1. Estimation and Costing Prepare detailed quantity take-offs from architectural, structural, and MEP drawings. Develop itemized cost estimates for labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor services. Analyze tender documents, drawings, specifications, and contract terms to fully understand project scope. Use rate analysis techniques to prepare unit rates for various construction items. Maintain a cost database of materials, labor, and vendor rates for accurate pricing. 2. Tendering and Bid Preparation Participate in the preparation and submission of tender proposals for public and private sector projects. Prepare BOQs, cost summaries, and technical submissions as per tender requirements. Identify and evaluate risk factors during estimation and propose contingency measures. Liaise with procurement for updated material pricing, supplier quotes, and lead times. Review bid conditions and ensure compliance with technical and commercial requirements. 3. Coordination and Collaboration Coordinate with design and engineering teams to clarify project details and resolve inconsistencies. Interact with vendors, subcontractors, and consultants to obtain competitive pricing. Collaborate with the project planning team to understand timelines and scheduling impacts on cost. Support project managers in preparing cost forecasts and budgets during project execution. 4. Post-Contract Assistance (if required) Assist in variation order preparation, change order pricing, and claims management. Support ongoing cost control by comparing estimated vs. actual quantities and rates. Prepare monthly progress valuations and work with accounts for billing and invoicing.
