Purpose Of Job:
The Data engineer will be part of the team supporting Nouryon’s Azure data platform team. As an Azure Data Engineer at Nouryon, you will play a vital role in transforming the organization into a data-driven enterprise by designing and delivering IT solutions, improving data quality, identifying opportunities for value creation, and supporting and maintaining the data platform.
The role encompasses a wide array of responsibilities, including subscription and data access management, technical application management on Azure, handling change requests, and security monitoring and incident response.

About the job (Job Responsibilities)
You will be part of our DevOps team, where you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the data platform.
Development (40%) : Design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines that ingest, transform, and store data in the Nouryon data platform.
Data Platform Support and Maintenance (40%) : Support and maintain the Nouryon Data Platform, including incident and change management.
Continuous Improvement (10%) : Continuously improve the Nouryon Data Platform by enhancing data quality and implementing innovative cloud services.
Design and Transformation (20%) : Design and deliver IT solutions to transform Nouryon into a data-driven organization. Contribute to the vision of Nouryon as an Intelligent Company.
Value Creation (10%) : Proactively identify new opportunities for Nouryon to derive more value from its data. Create a structured representation of these data objects, including their attributes, relationships, and hierarchies.

We believe you bring (Education & Experience)
Master’s or bachelor’s degree in business management, computer science, computer engineering, or a related field of study.
Technical Expertise
Professional with at least 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, preferably with Microsoft Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Server, Logic Apps, Azure Functions, and CI/CD Pipelines.
Certified MS Azure Data Engineer (DP-200 and preferably DP-201).
Experience with at least one of the following activities: building cloud-based data pipelines, creating and supporting Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
Hands-on strong experience with SQL (queries, stored procedures, views).
Experience and knowledge of relational databases, data modeling, data warehouses, metadata, and ETL with Microsoft SQL Server.
Knowledge of tools like Python.
Knowledge of SAP Business Warehouse, PowerBI, MS Fabric is an advantage.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
Manage role-based access grants for users in Nouryon Data Platform subscriptions and Resource Groups. Ensure correctness of role assignments and compliance.
Data Access Management
Manage role-based access grants for users, service principals, app registrations, and security principals in Nouryon Data Platform data storage resources.
Monitor and respond to incidents and alerts related to Data Access Management.
Undertake SQL Database Administration activities and monitor Azure Data Factory pipeline executions.
Provide/implement Azure-based components for Nouryon Data Platform developers and monitor Nouryon Data Platform components.
Handling Change Requests
Handle Change Requests related to Nouryon Data Platform workloads.
Manage standard and normal Change Requests related to data pipelines and datasets.
Follow Nouryon’s Operational Procedures for Change Management and manage Change Requests through ServiceNow.
Security Monitoring and Security Incident Response
Monitor data access and subscription access using Azure resources and custom-built tools.
Respond to security alerts and incidents with support from the Cloud Platform team.
This role also entails the management of CMDB entries and requires collaboration with Enterprise Architects, stakeholders, and adherence to Nouryon’s operational procedures for Change Management.
