We are looking for an experienced SDE-3 Backend Engineer to lead the design and development of scalable, secure backend systems powering our cloud-native cybersecurity platform. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Backend system architecture: Lead the design, development, and optimization of scalable backend services using Node.js, MongoDB, Redis, and NoSQL systems. - End-to-end delivery: Own and deliver complex backend modules, ensuring high availability, fault tolerance, and cost efficiency. - Cloud integration: Deploy and manage infrastructure across AWS, Azure, or GCP, following security and performance best practices. - Security by design: Implement cybersecurity best practices, including secure API handling, encryption, and threat mitigation. - Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with DevSecOps, frontend engineers, and product managers to deliver robust and secure features. - Mentorship and code quality: Conduct code reviews, guide junior developers, and uphold high engineering standards. - Security advocacy: Participate in secure code reviews, threat modeling, and contribute to the overall security posture of the product. REQUIREMENTS - Experience: 8–12 years of strong backend development experience in product-based, fast-paced environments. - Technical skills: Proficient in Node.js, MongoDB, Redis, and asynchronous programming models. - Cloud expertise: Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP and infrastructure best practices. - Cybersecurity knowledge: Deep understanding of authentication/authorization flows, OWASP top 10, secure coding, and data privacy. - Startup agility: Prior experience in early or growth-stage startups with a bias toward rapid development and problem-solving. - Tooling: Familiarity with CI/CD, microservices architecture, Docker/Kubernetes is a big plus. - Soft skills: Strong ownership mindset, effective communication, and team leadership. NICE TO HAVE - Security engineering: Experience participating in security reviews and building systems with compliance in mind. - Observability and performance: Familiarity with performance monitoring tools and optimization strategies. - DevSecOps mindset: Understanding of how engineering decisions impact the product’s threat surface and operational risk.
