Barista Job Role :Baristas are the face of Starbucks. They are an important part of our customers’ days, and experts in handcrafting delicious, perfect beverages. Baristas personally connect and create moments that make a difference. Beverage Preparation: Prepare high-quality coffee and tea drinks such as espresso, cappuccino, latte, cold brew, and frappes, as per company recipes and customer preferences. Operate espresso machines, grinders, blenders, and other barista tools with care and consistency. Ensure drinks are served at the correct temperature, texture, and presentation standards. 2. Customer Service: Greet customers warmly and provide a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. Take and serve customer orders accurately and promptly. Offer recommendations and answer questions about the menu, ingredients, or preparation process. Handle special requests (e.g., dairy-free, sugar-free, extra shot) politely and effectively. 3. Cashiering & POS Operation: Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system to take orders, process payments (cash, card, digital), and issue receipts. Handle returns, refunds, or customer complaints with professionalism. Maintain accuracy in billing and cash handling during shift hours. 4. Cleanliness & Hygiene: Maintain clean workstations, counters, machines, utensils, and customer seating areas throughout the day. Follow hygiene and safety protocols for food handling, waste disposal, and personal cleanliness. Regularly clean espresso machines and coffee grinders to ensure long-term use and quality. 5. Inventory & Stock Management: Refill and organize ingredients, coffee beans, syrups, milk, and disposables throughout the day. Notify management when stock levels are low or equipment needs servicing. Follow FIFO (First In First Out) method to ensure fresh ingredients are used. 6. Teamwork & Coordination: Collaborate with kitchen staff, waiters, and fellow baristas to ensure smooth service during busy periods. Support colleagues in maintaining standards and solving any customer-related issues. Participate in team meetings, product trainings, and company events. 7. Brand Representation: Uphold the café’s brand standards in terms of appearance, quality, and customer interaction. Wear the company uniform neatly and maintain a clean and professional appearance. Stay informed about promotions, loyalty programs, or seasonal drinks and communicate them to customers.
