Software Engineering Manager

Key Responsibilities Lead one team responsible for a product capability Lead the delivery of complex solutions and participate in the creation and presentation of technical designs Participate in production support along with their team Actively participate in planning and performing code and architecture reviews of their teams product Ensure the quality and integrity of the Software Development Life Cycle SDLC for their team and identify opportunities for improvement in how the team works through usage of recommended tools and practices Manage individual performance through regular 1 1s coaching mentoring and encouragement of development plans Partner with product owner to ensure requirements are clearly defined Lead effort to turn requirements into technical specifications Set project schedule along with product owner Provide technical leadership on the product and determines technical approach Proactively communicate status and issues to their manager Set the teams objectives and key results in collaboration with Product and Experience Design XD partners Collaborate with other teams to find creative solutions to customer issues Show a commitment to delivery deadlines in particular seasonal and vendor partner deadlines that are critical to Best Buys continued success Set tactical team goals in service of larger organizational strategic goals Requirements 7 years of relevant technical professional experience with a bachelors degree OR equivalent professional experience Including 1 years of experience managing and leading engineering teams 2 years of experience with Google cloud services including Dataflow BigQuery Pub sub Cloud function Cloud monitoring with exposure to IaaC such as Helm Terraform 1 years of experience with Adobe Analytics Content Square or similar technologies Hands-on experience with data engineering and visualization that includes SQL Airflow DBT LookerStudio Looker PowerBI or Tableau Strong understanding of real-time data processing and issue detection Expertise in data architecture database design data quality standards implementation and data modeling Ability to lead the technical discussions within team stakeholders on proposed solutions and bring them to conclusion Preferred Experience working in an omni-channel retail environment Experience connecting technical issues with business performance metrics Certification in Google Cloud Platform services Good understanding of data governance data privacy laws regulations and best practices About Best Buy Best Buy India is a vibrant hub of tech talent where we re driving innovation and accelerated business outcomes for Best Buy our customers employees and partners every day Our inclusive culture empowers you to learn grow collaborate and make a real impact Best Buy is North America s No 1 tech specialty retailer with approximately 42 billion in annual revenue and 85 000 employees worldwide Our purpose is to enrich lives through technology and we do that by helping personalize and humanize technology for millions of customers in our stores online and in their homes We re solving real human needs and helping serve our customers employees and partners in new ways every day This position is based in Bengaluru Best Buy India operates under a hybrid work model in office remote with an expectation for employees to be in the office three days a week Generally Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday As a global organization maintaining collaboration across the globe is a key proposition Within the framework of established guidelines employees may be required to engage in extended hours during critical periods All employees at Best Buy India work for BBY Services India LLP which is owned by subsidiaries of Best Buy Co Inc
