
Data Platform Engineer II

Ability to work with Azure Cloud data related services and Microsoft SQL Server is essential to the role but not limited to them.
To ensure consistent operational functionality Data Platform Engineer is expected to get involved in occasional intervention responding to critical issues outside of core hours. The workload would be typically shared across team members and appropriate compensation would be given in return for the time served.

Requirements
Technical skills/experiences:
- Experience in SQL(T-SQL) programming
- Experience in Data Processing and Integration Tools (ADF / SSIS)
- Experience in Data Storage and Management Systems, Data Formats (RDBMS / NoSQL / JSON / XML)
- Experience in Agile methodologies
- Fundamental programming skills
- Experience in working with Microsoft Azure Data Services
- Experience in CI/CD Tools (preferably Azure DevOps)
- Experience in writing infrastructure as code scripts (ARM Templates / PowerShell / Bash)
- Experience in Business Intelligence tools (SSRS / PowerBI / Tableau)
- Microsoft Azure Fundamentals certified
- Microsoft Azure Data Engineer Associate certified
- Knowledge in Microsoft PowerApps
- Advantageous – degree in Computer science, IT or similar
- Advantageous – any other data engineering or Cloud platform certifications

- Situationally Aware –Ability to think ahead and anticipate problems/issues and find solutions. Must be the first to notice differences and issues as they arise and elevate them to responsible roles
- Enthusiastic – Must have a passion for all things Agile and demonstrate this through continuous learning and improvements initiatives
- Attitude of transparency – Must desire to bring disclosure and transparency to the business about development and grow business trust
- Autonomy - Ability to accomplish assigned tasks with minimal supervision
- Critical thinking – Ability to apply sound logic and reasoning skills to facilitate decision making. Displays high level of numeracy, attention to detail and accuracy in all assigned activities adhering to internal rules and scripting standards

- Mentorship – be able to cross train other members of the team and help them to develop skills to the benefit of the team and organization
Key responsibilities
Data Solutions Implementation – Applying business-data logic to identify, design and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing.
Performance and Testing - Need to ensure that products in production perform as efficiently and effectively as possible. At the same time follow internal testing practices applying appropriate review strategies.
Continuous Learning - The Engineer is expected to always be up to date with industry standards and technological advancements that would improve the quality of product development, to apply the knowledge to enhance business continuity, performance, security and costs savings.
Creating best practices - Contribute to creation of best practices and standards which must be followed when creating any business solutions that the team owns.
Monitoring and Support – Ensure any services that the team owns are always in best health, respond to incidents.
Training - Spread the knowledge learned. Train colleagues how to work with various products, services that the team owns and what standards and best practices to follow.
Documentation - Create required documentation to meet business objectives and compliance requirements. Present appropriate material back to others with clarity.
