Pixel Softek is seeking a talented GIS Solutions Specialist to conceptualize, design, and deliver innovative Geographic Information System (GIS) solutions tailored for verticals like Utilities, Smart Cities, Defence, and Agriculture. The ideal candidate will develop and deliver effective geospatial solutions to drive sector-specific value. Familiarity with AI/ML models with respect to GIS is a strong plus.

We are seeking a highly skilled and forward-thinking GIS Solutions Specialist to develop, productize, and scale GIS solutions leveraging our existing technology base. The candidate will lead solutioning efforts for the above mentioned high-impact sectors, converting domain needs into deployable geospatial solutions for the sales team to take to market.

You will work at the intersection of technology, business, and innovation—developing solution architectures, overseeing prototypes, collaborating with internal product and engineering teams, and working closely with GIS Sales teams to enable successful go-to-market strategies across India and global markets.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Conceptualization

- Engage with stakeholders to gather and analyze sector-specific business needs related to geospatial technologies.
- Act as the lead technical analyst/architect for the overall strategy and high-level design for implementation projects
- Prepare technical proposals, RFP responses, solution documents, and product demos. Work with internal teams to develop proof of concepts (POCs) and demonstrations based on client requirements.
- Conduct sector trends research to identify emerging GIS applications and best practices.
- Translate requirements into clear solution concepts, use cases, and system architectures.

Solution Design

- Develop solution architectures, workflows, and technical specifications tailored to sector requirements.
- Evaluate, integrate, and advocate for open source GIS technologies as part of solution design; stay current with the latest developments in open source geospatial tools to enhance solution effectiveness, cost-efficiency, and scalability
- Utilise the right platforms, tools, data sources, and integration techniques to design GIS solutions.
- Prepare detailed design documentation, including system diagrams and process flows.

Technical & Functional Leadership

- Guide internal teams on technical implementation of GIS solutions.
- Ensure data integrity, interoperability, and adherence to industry standards.
- Oversee solution prototyping, testing, and validation phases.

Pre Sales & Marketing Readiness

- Translate domain-specific pain points into compelling GIS offerings.
- Prepare sector-focused product kits, demos, and sales enablement content
- Work with the Sales team to support pre-sales engagements, RFP responses, client presentations, and technical pitches.
- Identify and document clear value propositions and competitive differentiators for each solution.

Cross Functional & Stakeholder Engagement

- Assist account management team with sales engagements, including requirements gathering, solution design, system demos, scoping, level of effort assessment, and providing subject matter expertise
- Present solution concepts and designs to clients and sector partners.
- Conduct training and knowledge transfer sessions for end-users.
- Gather feedback and iteratively refine GIS solutions.

Continuous Improvement

- Monitor evolving sectorial needs and geospatial trends.
- Drive innovation by proposing enhancements to existing or new GIS solutions.
- Collaborate on R&D initiatives to maintain competitive edge.

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, or a related field.
- 7 – 15 years of experience in designing and implementing GIS solutions, preferably within the target sector.
- Strong understanding of GIS processes, platforms, applications, solutions and services.
- Knowledge of sector-specific regulations, standards, and data models.
- Proficiency in spatial data analysis, geoprocessing, and geospatial web services.
- Established relationships with GIS based tech companies, GIS service providers, and GIS application companies.
- Experience with system integration and API management.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience with cloud-based GIS platforms.
- Familiarity with programming/scripting for GIS Applications & GIS Solutioning.
- Understanding of emerging technologies (IoT, AI/ML in GIS, mobile GIS).
- Certification in GIS or sector-specific accreditation (if applicable).
