Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for an Associate - Chartered Accountant based in Mumbai. The Associate will be responsible for handling tax and regulatory compliance, conducting audits, providing advisory services, and assisting with corporate finance projects including due diligence and valuation. Day-to-day tasks will include preparing financial statements, evaluating compliance with regulatory standards, and advising clients on financial matters.

Key Responsibilities:

Internal Audit:

- Conduct internal audits independently or as part of a team, covering operational, financial, and compliance audits.
- Assess effectiveness of internal controls and recommend improvements.
- Prepare detailed internal audit reports and present findings to clients or management.
- Document and test internal processes and risk controls.

Statutory Audit:

- Assist in statutory audits of companies across various industries.
- Verify compliance with accounting standards (Ind AS/IGAAP) and Companies Act provisions.
- Prepare audit documentation, schedules, and draft financial statements.
- Coordinate with clients to ensure timely completion of audit assignments.

Indirect Tax (GST) Compliance & Litigation:

- Prepare and file GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-9, etc.) and perform reconciliations.
- Draft replies to GST notices, Show Cause Notices (SCNs), and assist in departmental proceedings.
- Support clients in GST audits, assessments, and appellate proceedings.
- Stay up to date with changes in GST law, circulars, and advance rulings.

Direct Tax Compliance & Advisory:

- Assist in preparation and filing of income tax returns for corporates and individuals.
- Conduct tax audits and prepare related documentation (Form 3CD, 3CA/3CB).
- Support in drafting replies to income tax notices and attending hearings.
- Keep abreast of updates in income tax law, case laws, and circulars

Eligibility Criteria:

- Qualified Chartered Accountant (Fresher)
- Articleship must be completed in a CA firm or organization with substantial exposure in at least one of the following:
- Internal Audit
- Statutory Audit
- Direct Tax (Compliance or Litigation)
- Indirect Tax (GST Compliance and/or Litigation)

Required Skills:

- Strong conceptual understanding of Indian taxation laws and auditing standards
- Working knowledge of Excel, Tally, income tax and GST portals
- Good command over report writing and documentation
- Ability to manage deadlines and multi-task effectively
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
