Audit Manager- Environment

Key Responsibilities Audit Management - Develop and implement the annual environmental audit plan based on regulatory requirements, operational risks, and organizational objectives. - Lead and conduct environmental audits across company operations, including site inspections, document reviews, and interviews with personnel. - Ensure audits address compliance with local, regional, and national environmental regulations (e.g., waste, water, air emissions, hazardous materials). - Coordinate and manage external regulatory audits and certification assessments (ISO 14001, sustainability audits, etc.). Compliance & Risk Assessment - Monitor and interpret current and emerging environmental regulations and standards; advise leadership on compliance implications. - Identify environmental risks, non-conformities, and opportunities for improvement. - Develop and oversee corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans; track the closure of audit findings. Reporting & Documentation - Prepare audit reports, compliance summaries, and risk assessments for leadership and regulatory agencies. - Maintain accurate, organized audit records and ensure timely submission of required environmental reports. Training & Stakeholder Engagement - Provide guidance and training to site teams on environmental compliance, audit readiness, and best practices. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, Engineering, Facilities, EHS, and Sustainability. - Support the development of environmental policies, procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives. Program Improvement - Evaluate and improve audit methodologies, tools, and processes. - Support environmental performance metrics, sustainability initiatives, and ESG reporting as required. Qualifications Education - Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field (Master’s preferred). Experience - 5–7+ years of experience in environmental compliance, auditing, or EHS management. - Strong understanding of environmental regulations (air, water, waste, chemical management). - Experience with ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems or similar frameworks. Skills & Competencies - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Excellent communication and report-writing abilities. - Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. - Proficiency with environmental management software and audit tools. - Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. - Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.
