Position Anesthesia Technician Department Anesthesiology Location Santiniketan Medical College Hospital Santiniketan West Bengal Job Type Full-Time Santiniketan Medical College Hospital is seeking a skilled and dedicated Anesthesia Technician to join our dynamic surgical team The ideal candidate will be a crucial member of the anesthesiology department ensuring that all anesthesia equipment and supplies are prepared and maintained to the highest standards for patient safety and care Job Summary The Anesthesia Technician provides essential support to the Anesthesiologist and the entire surgical team before during and after medical procedures This role involves preparing operating and maintaining anesthesia equipment as well as stocking necessary supplies and medications Your work will directly contribute to the safe and effective administration of anesthesia to our patients Key Responsibilities Equipment Preparation and Maintenance Set up calibrate and test anesthesia machines monitors and other related equipment before each surgical case Perform routine cleaning sterilization and maintenance of all anesthesia equipment according to hospital protocols and manufacturer guidelines Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform minor repairs or escalate issues to the biomedical engineering department as needed Ensure all equipment such as laryngoscopes intubation tubes and breathing circuits are in perfect working order Clinical Support Assist the Anesthesiologist with patient preparation including positioning monitoring and intravenous IV line setup Anticipate the Anesthesiologist s needs during procedures and promptly provide required instruments supplies and medications Assist with the insertion of invasive monitoring lines e g arterial lines central venous catheters under the direct supervision of the Anesthesiologist Operate specialized equipment such as blood gas analyzers and cell savers as directed Inventory and Supply Management Maintain adequate stock levels of all anesthesia supplies medications and disposable items in operating rooms carts and storage areas Order and receive new supplies ensuring proper storage and rotation of stock to prevent expiry Prepare and organize anesthesia carts and workstations for scheduled procedures Safety and Compliance Adhere strictly to all hospital policies infection control protocols and safety standards Ensure a clean and safe work environment in the operating theatre and related areas Participate in departmental quality assurance and improvement initiatives Qualifications and Skills Education A Diploma or Bachelor s Degree B Sc in Anesthesia Technology or Operation Theatre Technology from a recognized institution is required Experience A minimum of 1-2 years of experience working as an Anesthesia Technician in a hospital or surgical setting is highly preferred Freshers with exceptional skills and knowledge may be considered Certifications Certification in Basic Life Support BLS and Advanced Cardiac Life Support ACLS is a plus Technical Skills In-depth knowledge of anesthesia machines monitoring devices and surgical equipment Licensed by Google Proficiency in setting up and troubleshooting anesthesia equipment Familiarity with medical terminology and pharmacology related to anesthesia Personal Attributes Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to remain calm and work efficiently in high-pressure situations Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with the surgical team A compassionate and patient-centric approach Job Type Full-time Pay 164 614 19 - 418 531 33 per year Work Location In person
