Title Principal Software Engineer Job Information - The Principal Software Engineer leads and oversees the software engineering function focusing on the development release and maintenance of software applications and systems that align with business needs You will play an important role in creating and promoting standards that are used throughout the company Essential Duties and Responsibilities Lead software engineers to deliver innovative high-quality SaaS products on a foundation of architectural and engineering excellence Work cross-functionally with other roles and business teams to define deliver and support SaaS software and services ensuring alignment with customer needs and market trends Guide software engineers through the planning design coding delivery and support phases making day-to-day technical decisions with an emphasis on cloud-native architectures and microservices Own and continually improve the throughput and stability of product delivery and application lifecycle for SaaS applications in partnership with the product team Translate complex and ambiguous situations into clear actionable plans for your team Design and implement highly scalable secure and high-performance multi-tenant systems that comply with service-level agreements SLAs Communicate and collaborate with internal teams and external partners on technical details including API design integration and data security Train develop and retain top engineering talent fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation Qualifications Bachelor s or Master s degree in Software Engineering Computer Engineering Computer Science or applicable engineering or science field 10 years of development experience with 3 years of architecture experience specifically in SaaS environments Strong proficiency in multiple coding and programming languages relevant to SaaS development Experience with database design and data modeling particularly in cloud-based databases In-depth knowledge of the software development lifecycle SDLC and relevant technologies particularly in a SaaS context Excellent understanding of design patterns and architectural styles Proficient knowledge of the operation and development designs of agile software Strong soft skills including attention to detail problem-solving and communication skills Experience working with teams across different time zones and countries Preferred 3 years of proven work experience in Node js development Additional skills a plus in the following areas Go Ruby React Typescript Required Skills and Abilities Mentoring Skills Lead with integrity inspire confidence build trust and provide effective coaching and performance reviews Interpersonal Skills Self-motivated team player builds trust action and results-oriented open and collaborative style must be comfortable working in an environment where ideas are shared and challenged Communication Skills Strong professional written oral interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to effectively interface with all ranges of employees and customers Attention to Detail Thoroughness in accomplishing a task for all essential functions double-checking the accuracy and quality of own work product to provide accurate precise and consistent work Problem-Solving Skills Ability to think tactically and strategically demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution apply independent judgment and provide insightful analysis within a team setting Our Core Values Data Fanatics Our edge is always found in the data Partner Obsessed We are obsessed with partner success Team of Doers We have a bias for action Gamechangers We encourage innovation Pattern is an equal opportunity employer We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees
