Job Description
About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated Junior Power BI & SQL Developer to join our data team. In this role, you will support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of business intelligence reports and dashboards using Power BI, while also writing and optimizing SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from databases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and update interactive Power BI reports and dashboards based on business requirements.
- Write, test, and optimize SQL queries to retrieve and manipulate data from relational databases.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into effective BI solutions.
- Assist in data cleansing, validation, and transformation tasks.
- Support the data team in troubleshooting and resolving data-related issues.
- Document report designs, data models, and SQL queries.
- Learn and apply best practices in data visualization and SQL development.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Basic to intermediate experience with Power BI (report creation, data modeling, DAX basics).
- Working knowledge of SQL (writing SELECT queries, joins, filters, aggregations).
- Understanding of relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in a data-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Exposure to data warehousing concepts.
- Familiarity with ETL tools or processes.
- Basic knowledge of scripting languages (Python, R) is a plus.
- Experience with version control (e.g., Git).
