Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai for a Banquet Sales Manager. The Banquet Sales Manager will be responsible for driving banquet sales, managing customer relationships, planning and coordinating catered events, and overseeing the sales cycle from inquiry to event execution. The role involves developing sales strategies, meeting revenue targets, ensuring client satisfaction, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure smooth delivery of services. Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Development: - Identify, qualify, and convert leads for conferences, weddings, social events, corporate gatherings, and MICE business. - Proactively source new clients through cold calling, networking, market visits, and online channels. - Develop and maintain relationships with corporate companies, event planners, wedding coordinators, and travel partners. - Create persuasive proposals, contracts, banquet event orders (BEOs), and follow-ups to close sales. - Conduct site inspections and presentations for potential clients. Revenue Management: - Achieve monthly and yearly banquet sales targets as set by the management. - Maximize revenue through upselling dcor, F&B packages, AV equipment, and additional services. - Analyze market trends and competitor offerings to develop effective pricing strategies. - Maintain accurate forecast reports and track booking conversions. Coordination & Event Execution: - Work closely with the banquet operations, culinary, and F&B teams to ensure client requirements are clearly communicated. - Attend pre-event meetings, oversee event execution where required, and ensure service consistency. - Handle last-minute changes professionally and ensure client satisfaction throughout the event lifecycle. - Follow up with clients post-event for feedback and future business. Administration & Reporting: - Prepare weekly sales reports, revenue updates, and business analyses for management review. - Maintain accurate client records in CRM systems. - Ensure timely collections of deposits, final payments, and adherence to hotel financial policies. - Support marketing initiatives such as event showcases, wedding expos, and social media campaigns. Required Qualifications & Skills: - Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Industry, or Catering field (preferred). - 36 years of experience in banquet or event sales within the hotel industry. - Strong understanding of banquet operations, F&B concepts, and event logistics. - Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. - Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and manage tight deadlines. - Proficient in using CRM tools and sales software to track and manage client interactions. - Prior experience in the hotel or catering industry will be an advantage. - Key Competencies: - Customer-focused and service-oriented approach - Strong sales acumen and relationship-building skills - Attention to detail and creative event planning ability - Problem-solving and decision-making skills - Team collaboration and leadership Work Environment: - Fast-paced hotel environment with frequent client meetings. - Requires flexibility for weekend / evening availability depending on events.
