Job Description Location: Bengaluru or Pune (5 days WFO / Hybrid as per business need) Work Type: Permanent, Full-Time Experience Required: 8 14 Years (7+ relevant) Compensation: INR 25,00,000 32,00,000 per annum Job Overview The Functional Project Manager Payments will lead complex, business-side transformation initiatives for large global banks, focusing on payments and trade finance. This is a functional/delivery PM role (not pure IT PM), driving endtoend project lifecycle, process improvement, and digital transformation, while managing senior stakeholders across geographies. Key Responsibilities Own endtoend delivery of payments and trade finance transformation projects within global banking environments. Plan, track, and manage project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, issues, dependencies, and benefits. - Lead functional change initiatives (not pure tech PM), including operating model, process, and policy changes. - Drive digital transformation projects (at least 23 large digital deliveries in banks) in payments and related domains. - Conduct change impact assessments and ensure effective communication and stakeholder alignment. - Work closely with senior business stakeholders across regions; manage expectations, negotiations, and escalations. - Prepare and present project status reports, steering decks, risk/issue logs, and resourcing plans. - Champion Agile ways of working; align teams to Agile practices and cadences. - Ensure projects deliver tangible business outcomes rather than purely consulting artefacts. MustHave Skills & Profile - Strong functional project management background in global banks. - Deep banking domain understanding with global bank exposure (mandatory). - Handson experience in Trade Finance and Payments (payments transformation, digital payments journeys, process change). - Proven experience delivering transformation projects (business/functional), not just IT implementation. - Strong core PM skills: - Planning & tracking - Risks & issues management - Cost & benefits management - Change impact assessment - Reporting & resourcing - 23+ digital project deliveries in large banks (payments/digital banking). - Strong alignment with Agile ways of working (Scrum/Agile delivery). - Experience working with senior and crossgeography stakeholders. - Excellent communication, articulation, and negotiation skills. Certifications & Education Musthave certifications: PMP, CSM, Agile, and PRINCE2. Education: MBA and/or B.Tech/BE preferred. 7+ years of relevant functional PM experience in global banking (overall 814 years).
