Data Migration Specialist

As a Data Migration Specialist, you will be responsible for securely and accurately transferring data from legacy ERP systems to Deltek Vantagepoint. This role requires strong Microsoft SQL skills and a deep understanding of data structures, relationships, and strategy. You will work closely with the project team to plan, manage, and execute data migration projects.

Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with project teams to determine data migration requirements.
- Understand and map data structures to ensure accurate data transfer.
- Perform data analysis on legacy systems.
- Develop and implement migration scripts and procedures.
- Thoroughly test the migration process.
- Review and assess data to identify potential issues.
- Reconcile data between legacy systems and migrated data.
- Execute data migration in a production environment.
- Collaborate with Operations to design, build, and customize reports using Microsoft Visual Studio.
- Create workflows in Deltek Vantagepoint.
- Research and develop new technologies and tools related to Deltek Vantagepoint.
- Provide ongoing technical support and troubleshooting assistance.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on Deltek Vantagepoint.

Qualifications:

- Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and loading into Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint.
- Experience with relational databases, including tables, views, queries, T-SQL, and stored procedures.
- Ability to develop complex queries and stored procedures using SQL for Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint workflows and custom reports.
- Thorough understanding of database systems and data migration techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with project teams.
- Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Understanding of data usage and implications for data migration.
- Experience in developing best practices, processes, and standards for data migration activities.
- Experience in data mapping between legacy systems and Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint.
- Experience in data extraction and cleansing.
- Experience working with ERP systems (Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint) and understanding their data structures.
- Knowledge of accounting principles.
- 5+ years of development experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
- Experience in professional services is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint is required.
