The Senior Logistic Person is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the logistics operations within a company This includes managing the transportation distribution warehousing and inventory management functions to ensure efficient and timely delivery of goods and services Key Duties and Responsibilities Develop and implement logistics strategies policies and procedures to optimize operational efficiency and effectiveness Manage and coordinate the transportation of goods including negotiating contracts with shipping companies and monitoring transport costs Oversee warehouse operations including inventory management stock control and distribution of goods Ensure compliance with local and international regulations regarding the storage handling and transportation of goods Monitor and analyze logistics performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales procurement and production to ensure seamless coordination of logistics activities Build and maintain relationships with suppliers customers and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of goods and resolve any logistics issues Develop and implement risk management procedures to mitigate potential disruptions in the supply chain Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in logistics management to drive continuous improvement Lead mentor and train a team of logistics professionals to ensure high performance and professional development Qualifications and Requirements - Bachelor s degree in logistics supply chain management or a related field - Proven experience in logistics management preferably in a senior role - Strong knowledge of transportation warehousing and inventory management principles and best practices - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve logistics issues - Strong leadership abilities with the ability to motivate and manage a team - Excellent communication and negotiation skills to build relationships with stakeholders and manage third-party logistics providers - Proficient in using logistics software and systems to track and monitor supply chain operations - In-depth understanding of local and international laws and regulations governing logistics operations - Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines Overall the Senior Logistic Person plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of goods and services across the supply chain
