Role Overview:

Dhruva Space is seeking an experienced Antenna Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of ground station antenna systems for satellite communication. This role involves creating high-performance antennas for tracking, telemetry, and payload data reception, ensuring optimal system performance in diverse environmental conditions. The ideal candidate should have expertise in parabolic reflector design, phased arrays, RF tracking mechanisms, and RF system integration for LEO, MEO, and GEO satellite communications.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and optimize prime focus, Cassegrain, and Gregorian reflector antennas for satellite ground stations.
- Develop monopulse tracking feeds, phased arrays, and multi-band antenna feeds for S, X, Ka, Q, V, and E-band communication.
- Perform full-wave electromagnetic simulations (CST, HFSS, GRASP, FEKO) to optimize gain, sidelobe levels, and beam width.
- Ensure dual circular polarization compatibility (LHCP/RHCP) for telemetry and data downlink.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers on mounting structures, weight reduction, and reflector surface accuracy (RMS
- Design and evaluate carbon fiber reflectors for lightweight, high-precision, low-thermal expansion applications.
- Conduct wind loading, thermal, and vibration analysis to ensure antenna stability.
- Evaluate radome designs for RF transparency, weather resistance, and structural integrity.
- Define tracking requirements for fast-moving LEO satellites (up to 2°/s tracking rates).
- Design and test monopulse tracking feeds to achieve
- Integrate antennas with servo-controlled X-Y and Az-El mounts for seamless tracking.
- Optimize servo system response time for real-time adjustments.
- Develop test procedures for far-field radiation pattern measurements, gain validation, and polarization isolation.
- Perform on-site antenna characterization using near-field scanners, anechoic chambers, and ground station calibration.
- Utilize VNAs, spectrum analyzers, and network analyzers to measure VSWR, insertion loss, and return loss.
- Ensure compliance with MIL-STD-810G, ITU-R S.580, and ECSS standards.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies like AI-based beamforming, adaptive phased arrays, and electronically scanned antennas.
- Develop new antenna architectures to improve data throughput, interference mitigation, and tracking efficiency.
- Contribute to patents and technical publications related to ground segment antenna innovations.

Candidate Requirements:

- M.S., M.Tech, or Ph.D. in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, RF/Microwave Engineering, or related field.
- 5-8 years of experience in antenna design, satellite ground station engineering, or RF system integration.
- Strong background in parabolic reflector antennas, phased arrays, and high-frequency RF systems.
- Proficiency in TICRA, CST, HFSS, GRASP, MATLAB.
- Hands-on experience in far-field and near-field antenna measurement techniques.
