As a Full Stack Developer (backend focused), you’ll craft intuitive, high-performance user experiences and maintain the robust backend services that power them. You’ll work with React, TypeScript, and modern UI patterns on the frontend, while leveraging Python, FastAPI, async architectures, PostgreSQL/SQLAlchemy, and Stripe integrations on the backend to deliver reliable and scalable features. You’ll help shape our architecture end to end, solving integration and data challenges with independence and creativity. Your work will ensure the platform is fast, secure, scalable, and seamless from client to server. You’ll collaborate closely with product and engineering to deliver elegant solutions, working with tools such as: Frontend: React, TypeScript, modern component libraries, and API-driven UI patterns. Backend: Python, FastAPI, async services, PostgreSQL (SQLAlchemy), Redis, Stripe, and secure API integrations. Role Overview We're seeking an Python Full Stack Developer with strong Python and LLM provider API (e.g., Open AI, Anthropic, etc) integration skills to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our product’s backend services, AI capabilities, and data management systems. Key Responsibilities -Design, build, and maintain backend services using FastAPI, async Python, and modern API best practices. -Enhance billing and subscription functionality using Stripe, including support for team billing. -Develop and maintain authentication and RBAC or equivalent authorization workflows (involving JWT, access control, session logic). -Model, optimize, and extend PostgreSQL schemas using SQLAlchemy (async) and Alembic migrations. -Integrate external APIs securely and reliably, following best practices for async I/O, error handling, and retries. -Support and troubleshoot Heroku deployments, configuration, and environment management. -Write maintainable, well-tested code with clear documentation of system behavior and decisions. -Collaborate with the product and frontend team to support new features and ensure strong API–UI integration. -Provide proactive status updates and communicate effectively about code choices and technical decisions. -Take accountability and ownership of your code end-to-end. Required Qualifications -4+ years of professional backend development experience with Python. -Deep experience with FastAPI, Pydantic, async/await patterns, and Starlette middleware. -Strong database knowledge: PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy (async), schema design, migrations. -Experience integrating or maintaining billing systems (Stripe strongly preferred). -Solid understanding of REST API architecture, security best practices, authorization control, and data validation. -Experience deploying and operating backend services in the cloud (Heroku, Railway, or equivalent). -Familiarity with Redis for caching, rate limiting, or session/state management. -Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and collaborative development workflows. -Strong debugging skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently. -Hands-on experience with Cursor (or similar tools) and prompt engineering for productivity improvement is a must-have. - -Strong foundational background in computer science engineering, or mathematics, with excellent analytical and problem solving skills. -Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science & Engineering, or a related technical field. Bonus Qualifications -Experience with subscription-based SaaS systems or multi-tenant architectures. -Familiarity with background tasks, async workers, or distributed systems concepts. -Knowledge of observability tools (logging, metrics, tracing). -Understanding of feature gating, permissions, or access control systems.
