on par with our network people and brands Data Analytics mission is to enable Value Stream tribes to access data and use data and analytics capabilities powerfully by addressing the key challenges they face feature-rich and scalable technologies data availability and quality the skills needed to make the most of it and end to end governance Within the Data AI Architecture team the Platform Architect will be part of a horizontal function responsible for driving the GCP architecture and helping our customers with building creative solutions that provide business value The Platform Architect will need to be hands on and will be responsible for driving POC s and solutions to help our customers deliver value based on our architecture principals The Platform Architecture team are looking for a variety of skills Devops Infra Secops Engineer AI ML that can be used to support our transformation of moving from a centrally IT managed monolithic architecture to an SRE driven data mesh architecture within GCP Ideal candidates will have a mix of architectural and hands on skills We are looking to build a horizontal capability for BT - treating Data as a strategic asset in the same way we do our network our people and our brand The job holder will use their architectural and engineering experience on cloud technologies to drive business outcomes cost efficiency technical performance and ensure BT provides the best experience for its customers What you ll be doing Driving the cloud architecture and supporting BT s data and analytics transformation including defining patterns standards and principles Challenging the Status Quo keeping up with the latest industry trends and championing change Defining and driving hands on POC s proving new service capabilities with regards performance and cost Use past experience to guide and inform other cloud engineers with regards solutions ensuring that engineers build based around common standard frameworks Create and implements technical solutions for a domain or cross domains portfolios of work within a specific technology area autonomously understanding how solutions impact systems internally and or externally and assessing impact of change Provide technical quality assurance over work of other engineers Provide sound technical expertise to consult on significant component s of a technical solution within a specific domain or cross domain Identify opportunities to improve standards of practice within a project continuously enhancing ways of working Deliver resolutions to problems that tend to be complex cross-domain or of high impact to customers Experience required for the job You will come from a strong architectural background and be able to demonstrate experience in one of the following disciplines - Devops Secops Infra Engineering or AI ML A blend of hands on and traditional architectural experience is a must A willingness to learn and ability to adapt to change is a must for the Architect Alongside this the ideal Platform Architect would be someone who champions change think outside of the box and challenges future vision You will have experience defining designing and managing complex technical solutions across multiple domains involving an extensive range of technologies Have experience in defining creating documenting and managing solutions across a wide range of projects Understands and can intelligently articulate key concepts around data and across technical commercial and experience design disciplines Understanding of and experience in building data analytics platforms on cloud technologies Aws Azure GCP with focus on Google Cloud Platform GCP Certification in either GCP AWS Azure or another cloud Experience in architecting and developing data solutions using services made available on GCP GCS BigQuery Dataflow Pub Sub etc utilising Infrastructure as Code primarily Terraform Understanding of technologies supporting Analytics Big Data Business Intelligence Data Science Decisioning Digital Marketing AI Machine Learning and Internet of Things Any experience of Qlik Pega Unica or Vertix AI would be advantageous Our leadership standards Looking in Leading inclusively and Safely I inspire and build trust through self-awareness honesty and integrity Owning outcomes I take the right decisions that benefit the broader organisation Looking out Delivering for the customer I execute brilliantly on clear priorities that add value to our customers and the wider business Commercially savvy I demonstrate strong commercial focus bringing an external perspective to decision-making Looking to the future Growth mindset I experiment and identify opportunities for growth for both myself and the organisation Building for the future I build diverse future-ready teams where all individuals can be at their best About us BT Group was the world s first telco and our heritage in the sector is unrivalled As home to several of the UK s most recognised and cherished brands -
