Job Description Job Title: Head Quality Control (QC) Department: Quality Assurance & ControlIndustry: CRGO Steel Manufacturing / Electrical SteelLocation: Vadodara Reports To: Plant Head Experience Required: 10+ years in quality control within the CRGO or specialty steel industry Job Purpose To lead the Quality Control department and ensure that all CRGO products meet national and international quality standards. The QC Head will oversee testing, inspection, process audits, documentation, and compliance, ensuring consistent output of high-performance CRGO materials for the transformer and electrical industry. Key Responsibilities Quality Management & Control - Develop and implement quality control procedures specific to CRGO steel processing (slitting, annealing, coating, cutting, etc.) - Monitor the quality of incoming raw material, in-process material, and finished goods. - Ensure adherence to ISO, BIS, IEC, and other relevant standards for electrical steel. Testing & Inspection - Oversee mechanical, electrical, and chemical testing of CRGO materials, including: - Core loss - Magnetic permeability - Thickness - Surface insulation resistance - Coating adhesion - Ensure calibration and maintenance of testing equipment (e.g., Epstein testers, Franklin testers, etc.) Process Audits & Improvements - Conduct regular audits of manufacturing processes to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement. - Analyze quality trends, reject rates, and customer complaints to initiate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). - Work with production and R&D teams for process optimization and new product trials. Compliance & Documentation - Maintain all required documentation for traceability, certifications, and compliance audits. - Lead efforts to achieve and maintain ISO 9001, ISO 14001, or IATF certifications. - Prepare quality reports and present findings to senior management. Customer Quality Support - Handle technical quality queries and complaints from customers (OEMs, transformer manufacturers). - Coordinate third-party inspections and testing when required. - Support sales/marketing with technical certifications and product data sheets. Team Management - Lead and mentor the QC/QA team. - Plan training programs to ensure the team is updated on latest standards and testing protocols.
