Hardware you will be responsible for the hardware and electrical design of automotive products such as infotainment systems displays audio units and ADAS applications You will lead the review and analysis of system requirements execute and evaluate designs perform circuit analysis oversee PCB layout support DV PV testing and manage complex engineering projects throughout the full product development lifecycle to meet customer requirements You will plan define and execute hardware development for automotive electronic products independently without supervision What You Will Do Lead the hardware electrical design for the product to meet development schedule and quality through the whole product life cycle Responsible for realization of electronic system designs and schematics Analyze customer requirements in order to understand and determine appropriate circuit implementations Work with PCB layout engineer to implement optimized PCB layouts with compliance to EMC manufacturing design rules while meeting mechanical packaging requirements Design simulate and verify the electrical circuits and determine the performance characteristics using SPICE Hyperlynx ANSYS and or other engineering tools Plan and implement HW verification during product development to ensure the electrical design meets specifications and requirements by recording and analyzing test data Manage and release the electrical BOMs Support failure analysis investigation and resolve of EMC issues in testing Support the development and review of the environmental and EMC hardware validation test plans with the validation engineers Support the manufacturing team related to DFM and test reviews and technical build issues Lead electronic design reviews both with the internal cross-functional teams Support the development and review of DFMEAs and FuSa work products Mentor guide junior engineering talent with technical expertise Follow current hardware development process and also contribute to process improvement Support departmental initiatives and activities as directed by the department supervisor What You Need to be Successful Bachelor s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline 10 years of experience in the field of automotive electronics engineering or a related field Hands-on experience with electrical schematics such as Mentor Graphics OrCAD Cadence or similar Strong understanding of PCB layout concepts and best practices Familiarity with electrical simulation tools is preferred such as ANSYS signal integrity and power integrity HyperLynx SPICE or similar Familiarity with cockpit electronics-related technologies is preferred such as high-speed SOCs DRAM flash microcontrollers CAN Ethernet LVDS oLDI video SerDes GMSL FPDLink displays and linear and switching power supplies Knowledge of Automotive EMC requirements is preferred including EMC troubleshooting Proficient in the use of electrical test equipment including oscilloscopes signal generators spectrum analyzers network analyzers and multimeters Ability to troubleshoot issues with electronic circuits and perform root cause analysis in order to determine corrective actions Ability to analyze and optimize circuits and designs for cost Ability to perform worst-case circuit analysis Strong documentation and reporting skills Bonus Points if You Have Experience designing cockpit electronics displays HUD Cluster Infotainment etc Experience designing projectors using technologies such as DLP Laser and TFT Knowledge of ISO26262 ASPICE and other automotive-related standards What Makes You Eligible Be willing to travel up to 10 domestic and international Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment What We Offer Access to employee discounts on world-class Harman and Samsung products JBL HARMAN Kardon AKG etc Extensive training opportunities through our own HARMAN University Competitive wellness benefits Tuition Reimbursement Access to HARMAN Campus Fitness Center and Cafeteria An inclusive and diverse work environment that fosters and encourages professional and personal development You Belong Here HARMAN is committed to making every employee feel welcomed valued and empowered No matter what role you play we encourage you to share your ideas voice your distinct perspective and bring your whole self with you -
