Role Overview: We are seeking a highly experienced and self-driven Senior Architect to lead the design and development of scalable, high-performance solutions within the EXA Data Services (S3DS/NSDS) product line. The candidate should have a strong background in Java, Spring Framework, and distributed systems architecture, with proven experience in building large-scale storage or data service products end-to-end. Key Responsibilities: - Define and own the architecture, design, and technical roadmap for S3DataService component. - Lead the product lifecycle from requirements and design to development, testing, and release. - Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and reviews for the engineering team. - Drive improvements in performance, scalability, and reliability of distributed data systems. - Collaborate with QA, DevOps, and Support (L3) teams to ensure stability and quality. - Evaluate and implement customer-driven features in collaboration with Product Management. - Ensure adherence to best practices, coding standards, and architectural principles. Required Skills and Experience: - Strong expertise in Java, Spring Framework (Core, Boot, Data), and server-side programming. - Hands-on experience with Maven, REST APIs, and microservices architecture. - Solid understanding of system design, architecture patterns, and distributed systems. - Deep knowledge of data storage, Big Data systems, Cassandra, Hadoop, and Elasticsearch. - Experience with S3 object storage protocol and related storage technologies. - Strong foundation in Linux, networking, and infrastructure-level debugging. - Proven ability to lead design and implementation for large-scale enterprise systems. - Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. - Self-sufficient, proactive, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision. - Experience with Python, containerization (Podman/Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD workflows. - Prior experience with distributed file systems or high-availability storage solutions. - Understanding of security, data consistency, and fault-tolerant architectures.
