THE PERSON: The ideal candidate should be passionate about software engineering, have good understanding of the underlying hardware and possess leadership skills to drive sophisticated issues to resolution. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Primary responsibility is the validation of Bootloaders, which includes the following tasks: - Develop and execute test cases to validate all boot peripherals from where the FSBL (First Stage Boot Loader) is copied. Example: xSPI, SD, eMMC, UFS, USB - Create and execute test cases to validate all proprietary boot sequences. - Develop and execute test cases to validate all internal boot modes. - Develop and execute test cases to validate all supported encryption/decryption algorithms. - Automate tests using Python. - Perform testing on prototyping/emulation platforms, including X86 emulation. - Report coverage metrics using tools such as Verdi and add tests to ensure maximum source line coverage. - Review requirements and create associated test cases to ensure traceability. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: - 5-8 years of experience, Proficiency in C, Python - Good understanding of ARM architecture and knowledge of ARM based SoCs - Good understanding of various boot peripherals-xSPI, SD, eMMC, UFS, USB - Experience with Windows, Linux and/or any RTOS - Experience developing bootloaders and drivers for hardware cyrpto accelerators is a plus - Experience in developing software, that is certified for Safety and Security, is a plus - Effective communication and problem-solving skills ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: - Bachelor s or Masters degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering or Computer Science and Engineering, or equivalent
