Job Description

The Computer Operator is responsible for managing and monitoring computer systems and networks, ensuring that they run smoothly and efficiently. This includes executing scheduled jobs, troubleshooting system issues, and performing routine system checks and backups

Key Responsibilities:

- Operating Computer Systems: Monitor and operate mainframe, servers, or other computer systems to ensure smooth operation and efficient processing of tasks.

- System Monitoring: Keep track of the system's performance, alerting technical staff in case of malfunctions or downtime.

- Job Scheduling: Execute and monitor automated tasks, schedules, and scripts to ensure that they are performed in a timely and accurate manner.

- Data Entry & Record-Keeping: Perform data entry tasks, maintaining accurate logs of all operations and system activities.

- System Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve minor system problems; escalate more complex issues to the IT support team or systems administrator.

- File Management: Organize, back up, and archive system files and records to ensure the integrity and security of data.

- Security Compliance: Ensure system access is managed according to the company's security policies, including maintaining passwords and other security measures.

- Software & Hardware Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance on computers and peripheral devices like printers and scanners. Coordinate with the IT team for more complex hardware repairs.

- Support User Requests: Provide basic computer and system support to end-users and respond to system-related queries.

- Education: High school diploma or equivalent. A technical certification in computer operations or IT support is a plus.

- Experience: Prior experience in a computer operator or similar role is advantageous.

- Technical Skills:

- Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software.

- Ability to use office software like MS Office and manage file storage systems.
