Role: SAP APO Consultant Experience: 6 Years -12 Years Location: Gurugram/Hyderabad SAP APO (Advanced Planner and Optimizer) SAP APO is a core component of SAP SCM (Supply Chain Management) that provides advanced planning and optimization capabilities for supply chain processes. It helps organizations improve demand forecasting, production planning, distribution, and transportation by integrating real-time data from SAP ERP and external systems. Key Modules of SAP APO APO is made up of different sub-modules designed for specific supply chain planning functions: DP (Demand Planning) - Forecasting customer demand using statistical models & historical data. - Supports collaborative forecasting with sales & marketing inputs. - Uses time series modeling, causal forecasting, and promotion planning. SNP (Supply Network Planning) - Optimizes supply, production, and distribution network. - Supports heuristics, CTM (Capable-to-Match), and optimization methods. - Balances supply & demand across the entire supply chain. PP/DS (Production Planning & Detailed Scheduling) - Plans production at a detailed level considering machine capacity and materials. - Supports finite capacity scheduling. - Integrates tightly with shop-floor execution in SAP ECC / S/4HANA PP. GATP (Global Available-to-Promise) - Real-time product availability check across locations. - Supports rules-based ATP, product substitution, and backorder processing. TP/VS (Transportation Planning and Vehicle Scheduling) - Optimizes transportation routes, vehicle loads, and delivery scheduling. - Helps reduce freight costs and improve delivery performance. CIF (Core Interface) - Middleware that connects SAP APO with SAP ERP (ECC/S4HANA). - Transfers master data (materials, BOMs, routings, locations) and transactional data (sales orders, purchase orders, stock levels). Integration with SAP ERP - APO does not work in isolationit depends on ERP for execution. - Planning in APO Execution in ERP. - Example: - APO DP creates forecast Sent to ERP for MRP APO SNP balances PP/DS creates planned orders Orders executed in ERP.
