Job Description

Roles And Responsibilities

- Participate on project teams to deploy solutions across open-source and cloud technologies
- Architect open-source and cloud technology solutions addressing storage, messaging, streaming, analysis, scalability, DevOps, and security
- Participate in pre-sales cycles as technical expert to drive adoption and maturation of open-source and cloud technologies
- Provide thought leadership to Ahead and customers
- Lead customer requirements gathering and design to achieve business goals
- Communicate with customers including top management for explanation, interpretation, and advising
- Lead a team of technical delivery resources
- Lead development and testing activities
- Lead architecture and design of complex solutions
- Lead creation of written deliverables
- Lead client demos and working sessions
- Lead integration design sessions and deployment
- Participate as technical expert in client workshops
- Influence team members and customers regarding policies, best practices, and procedures
- Achieve high team standards
- Contribute to methodology refinement and best practices
- Understand performance, scaling, and functional characteristics of software technologies
- Mentor junior staff and support project leadership
- Obtain and maintain relevant certifications

Qualifications

- Minimum 5+ years customer-facing role experience
- 3+ years designing, securing, and deploying large-scale applications and solutions
- Experience with major cloud vendor environments (development, access, migration)
- Effective communication and presentation skills across all organizational levels
- Subject matter expert in at least one open-source and cloud technology
- Architect-level development skills in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python)
- Architect-level development skills in at least one messaging protocol (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, JMS)
- Strong skills integrating third party tools and solutions
- Strong project and situational awareness
- Strong attention to detail
- Self-starter with proactive approach

- Provide measurable input into products, processes, standards, and plans
- Author and coordinate technical documentation and knowledge articles
- Coordinate and contribute cross-practice deliverables
- Understand open-source and cloud use cases, recommend standard design patterns and best practices
- Demonstrate deep expertise in at least one open-source and/or cloud technology
- Architect and lead deployment of moderately complex solutions
- Communicate with external customers including senior management
- Translate customer requirements into technical requirements
- Establish strong, long-term professional relationships across Sales, Pre-Sales, and Post-Sales
- Participate in presales activities including scoping and positioning
- Identify new client opportunities and engage pre-sales to begin campaigns
- Communicate strategic direction beyond technology
- Provide thought leadership and marketing support
- Speak at industry conferences
- Contribute to complex workshops and align expertise with organizational messaging
- Drive scoping, planning, and methodology for critical projects
- Initiate and participate in PCR requests for additional work
- Develop innovative, high-impact solutions for complex client programs
- Influence team members and external customers to accept new concepts and approaches
