IndiaJob Family Group FinanceWorker Type RegularPosting Start Date September 6 2024Business unit FinanceExperience Level Early Careers Where you fitShell Trading integrates a global portfolio of crude oil refined products natural gas electrical power LNG chemicals and freight Shipping Purpose of this role is to deliver E2E process operations in STUSCo Domestic Crude team This position is predominantly required to perform settlements and month close related activities as part of Gross Margin accounting This includes analysis of costs revenue incurred along with STUSCO purchase sale activity variable cost and inventory Collaboratively work with various stake holders in Finance community TCF MO team business partners IT and Tax team to finalize the numbers and extend the support to wider team as and when necessary What s the role The successful incumbent will manage the role of a Specialist in North America Crude team Roles required incumbent to manage crude monthly settlements and perform critical month close related activities to ensure smooth handoff of books to T2F team Roles offers a great learning scope to understand the recording of a transactions to how it reflects in the financial statements and contribute to T2F reconciliation The role offers a challenging opportunity in a fast moving dynamic and global Trading environment Position Description - Accountabilities Process payments for NA Crude team by having great collaboration with onshore teams and ensure payments are made On-time in line with the agreed metrics KPIs and service standards Manage workflows and work with OSA in case of any disputes Review business inputs interfaces hand off points and ways of working aimed at effective business partnering to provide strong and continuous support to the T S businesses Identify erroneous purchase and sale volumes price settlement differences between the Trade book and SAP and request corrective action from Trading Accounting teams Maintain a robust controls culture aimed at 100 design and operating effectiveness In line with the changing dynamics of T S business it is key to perform a periodic review of controls framework and create a mechanism which provides early warning of any impending challenges Drive operational improvements so that the organization reaches top quartile performance as measured against the targets for relevant metrics defined by the Process Owner s across the NA TSA landscape Perform required analysis with comprehensive and meaningful assessments for any adhoc requests from stakeholders Collaborate with On-shore on issue based and periodic discussions setting and understanding the expectations for better Stake holder engagement and Operational excellence Drive Continuous Improvement CI initiatives across various work streams by aligning with overall Organization and Finance operations vision on Simplification and Automation and make effective use of Visual Management VM Ensure any changes to existing process is properly accommodated with appropriate approvals in line with Change Management methodology Lead change by ensuring clear optimum engagement with regular communications to all the relevant stakeholders Periodic review and update of Work Instructions to ensure all the process exceptions and changes are captured and documented Stakeholders Effectively communicate with a wide range of stakeholders internal and external to the trading business on a regular basis Develop and foster connections with relevant business partners to ensure performance and control issues in the end-to-end process are identified and resolved quickly and that high-level issues are appropriately escalated discussed and resolved Values Demonstrate leadership attributes and maintain sustainable working beside healthy DE I environment What do we need from you Professional qualification with minimum 8 years of experience in Accounting and reporting roles along with strong written and communication skills Trading experience is an added advantage Strong command in computer applications specifically Excel latest digitalization tools end user and the ability to quickly acquire working knowledge of other systems tools Understanding of trading systems Endur V11 its interfaces to SAP associated with its log interface and tracking of accounting entries and firsthand experience with Blackline application Knowledge on all aspects of accounting processes which generate Gross Margin including Purchase and Sale price calculations inventory Movements inventory valuation Netting as per IAS32 and general cost accounting Networking and collaborative business relationship skills is strongly desired Being in IC role able to collaborate with stakeholders and influence them without formal authority by manual judgments accounting analytics complying to KPIs service standards reporting requirements Ability to work effectively and efficiently and demonstrate resilience under pressure and with competing priorities Knowledge of the North America Crude or Products trading business will be an added advantage Challenge the status quo to ensure maximum benefit from the Continuous Improvement initiatives Help team leads to maintain effective and appropriate systems and procedures in line with the Controls framework governing the trading business Company DescriptionShell Business Operations SBO is a chain of operational centers that form an integral part of Royal Dutch Shell We influence business development for Shell globally enabling the work of 93 000 employees in over 70 countries across the world SBO Chennai is focused on driving excellent performance that enable Shell to operate in a global competitive and ever-changing business environment An Innovative Place to WorkTheres never been a more exciting time to work at Shell Everyone here is helping solve one of the biggest challenges facing the world today bringing the benefits of energy to everyone on the planet whilst managing the risks of climate change Join us and youll add your talent and imagination to a business with the power to shape the future -
