About HealthSigns HealthSigns is building the Intelligent Operating System for Healthcare - An AI-powered platform that unifies EMR, Labs, Transcription, and Care Coordination into one intelligent ecosystem. At its core lies the Intelligence Kernel , the reasoning and orchestration layer that powers automation, contextual understanding, and clinical intelligence across the HealthSigns stack. Role Overview We’re looking for a Senior Python Developer with 5–6 years of experience who can architect and build high-performance backend systems that interact with AI and LLM-driven components. You’ll be part of the Intelligence Kernel team, working on core services that handle data ingestion, schema validation, and interaction with HealthSigns’ AI modules — including transcription, Smart Scan, and lab interpretation engines. This role is ideal for a developer who wants to work on real-world AI integration, not just API wrappers — someone who understands how to build scalable backend pipelines that let AI reason, act, and automate clinical workflows. Key Responsibilities - Develop and maintain backend APIs and data services in Python that power AI-enabled features. - Design robust data models, schema validators, and retrieval logic to support structured LLM output. - Integrate AI/LLM endpoints (e.g., transcription, reasoning, summarization) into production pipelines. - Build and optimize retrieval-anchored workflows and caching layers for AI interactions. - Ensure security, reliability, and version control in all AI–backend integrations. - Collaborate closely with AI engineers and data scientists to productize AI features. - Mentor junior developers and participate in architecture reviews and sprint planning. Technical Skills - Strong expertise in Core Python and OOP principles. - Experience with FastAPI / Flask, Pydantic, and RESTful API design. - Hands-on experience with MongoDB (schema design, indexing, aggregation). - Familiarity with LLM/AI integrations (OpenAI, Hugging Face, LangChain, or custom inference APIs). - Understanding of message queues (Celery/RabbitMQ), caching, and API orchestration. - Exposure to Docker, CI/CD, and cloud environments (Azure/AWS). - Experience with retrieval pipelines, schema enforcement, or prompt orchestration is a plus.
