Job Description Control-M and Unix Shell Scripting expertise typically focuses on workload automation, job scheduling, and system administration within a Unix/Linux environment. Key Responsibilities: - Control-M Administration: Designing, implementing, and maintaining Control-M job schedules and workflows. - Monitoring and troubleshooting Control-M jobs, ensuring timely completion and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs). - Managing Control-M agents, servers, and related components. - Implementing and managing Control-M modules (e.g., Application Integrator, AFT, MFT, SAP, Oracle). - Performing Control-M upgrades, patches, and migrations. - Unix Shell Scripting: Developing, testing, and maintaining robust Unix/Linux shell scripts (Bash, Korn shell, etc.) for automation of tasks, data manipulation, and system administration. - Integrating shell scripts with Control-M jobs for automated execution. - Troubleshooting and debugging shell scripts. - Implementing error handling and logging mechanisms within scripts. - Operational Support: Providing production support for scheduled jobs and automation processes. - Responding to and resolving incidents related to Control-M and shell script failures. - Participating in on-call rotations as required. - Collaboration and Documentation: Collaborating with development teams, operations teams, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and implement solutions. - Creating and maintaining technical documentation, including runbooks, job definitions, and script specifications. Required Skills and Qualifications: - Technical Expertise: - Strong hands-on experience with Control-M Workload Automation (various versions). - Proficiency in Unix/Linux operating systems and command-line tools. - Expertise in Unix shell scripting (Bash, Korn shell, or similar). - Familiarity with other scripting languages (e.g., Perl, Python) is often a plus. - Knowledge of database concepts and SQL is often beneficial. - Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to job failures and system performance. - Strong analytical skills for optimizing job schedules and automation processes. - Communication and Teamwork: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with diverse stakeholders. - 5+ yearsControl M and UNIX Shell Scripting. - Strong hands on Control M. - Strong hands on UNIX shell scriptingControl M and UNIX Shell Scripting. - Control-M Administrator/Specialist, Unix/Linux System Administrator with Control-M expertise, Batch Operations Engineer, and Workload Automation Engineer.
