Founded in 1983 the Marcus Evans Group is a global Business Intelligence and Event Marketing company with 49 offices in 20 countries Headquartered in the UK we are ranked among the Top 20 UK Companies for Work Life Balance Working across all industry sectors our Summits Conferences and Online Events deliver innovative high-level content and networking platforms that bring together key decision-makers on a global scale Our client base includes C-level executives from 98 of Fortune 1000 companies and we are world leaders across industries such as Healthcare Legal Pharmaceutical Investments Energy and Packaging We are seeking a highly skilled Senior PHP Developer with deep expertise in backend development and a strong interest in expanding their skills in Python FastAPI This role is ideal for developers comfortable maintaining legacy PHP systems while transitioning into modern scalable architectures using Python This is a hybrid role based in one of our offices in India Key Responsibilities Develop maintain and enhance web applications primarily built in PHP Collaborate on the Ongoing migration of PHP-based systems to Python FastAPI Understand and support stakeholder requirements to ensure project alignment and successful delivery Build test and deploy RESTful APIs and backend services Optimize code for performance scalability and maintainability Work closely with frontend teams to ensure seamless integration Participate in sprint planning code reviews and architecture discussions Maintain documentation and follow clean coding practices Troubleshoot debug and resolve issues across PHP and Python environments Qualifications Bachelor s degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field 5 years of hands-on backend development experience Proven track record of building and maintaining large-scale web applications Must-Have Skills 5 years of strong experience in PHP development Laravel or custom frameworks Solid understanding of OOP principles and MVC frameworks Hands-on experience with MySQL PostgreSQL databases Working knowledge of Python preferably FastAPI or Flask Familiarity with REST API design and backend integrations Proficiency with Git Docker and deployment workflows Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills Eagerness to learn and adopt new technologies especially Python-based development Good- to- Have Skills Experience in system migration from PHP to Python Knowledge of asynchronous programming background tasks or event-driven architecture Exposure to cloud platforms AWS GCP Azure Understanding of frontend technologies React Vue etc for full-stack collaboration Compensation Benefits Competitive base salary Be part of a highly skilled and collaborative team Performance-based bonus opportunities May require relocation to Mumbai Kerala or Hyderabad with occasional international travel We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity All employment is decided on the basis of qualifications merit and business need LI-Hybrid LI-DNI
