To continue this transformation, we're seeking an experienced cloud engineer who has expertise inarchitectinganddesigning,andtheimplementation of large-scale projects in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).The ideal candidate will have a firm grasp ofCloud architecture design, strategic leadership, andCloud service implementation and automation leveragingIaC(Terraform, Ansible, Chef). ThePrincipal Cloud Engineerwill have an immediate impact on the day-to-day efficiency of product engineering and an ongoing impact on growth. Objectives of this role - Lead a team that will work in tandem with engineering teams to identify and implement the most optimal cloud-based solutions for the company - Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance - Provide guidance, thought leadership, and mentorship to developer teams to build their cloud competencies - Provide infrastructure and observability to product teams ensuringapplication performance, uptime, and scale, maintaining high standards for code quality and thoughtful design - Manage cloud environments in accordance with company securityand complianceguidelines In this role, you will: - Partner with otherCloud Engineering leadersto drive the strategic goals,acting as a team lead drivingthedevelopmentand implementation oftechnical efforts to design, build, and deploy cloud applications, including large-scale data processing, computationally intensive statistical modeling, and advanced analytics - Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle for cloud solutions, including planning, requirements, development, testing, and quality assurance - Troubleshoot incidents, identify root causes, fix and document problems, and implement preventive measures - Educate teams on the implementation of new cloud-based initiatives, providing associated training when necessary - Demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, with an ability to see and solve issues before they affect business productivity Your background: - 4years in a Cloud Engineering or similar role, with a proven track record of architecting and managing highly reliable and scalable systems. - Strong programming and scripting skills, with proficiency in languages such as Python, .NET, Go, or Java. - Deep understanding of cloud technologies and experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. - Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration tools. - Extensive experience withinfrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or Chef. - Experience with Observability implementation and tools such as New Relic, Grafana,DataDog. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and drive resolution. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. - ExtensiveunderstandingofDevOps methodologies and practices. - Extensive knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. - Proven leadership abilities, with experience leading technical teams and driving initiatives to successful outcomes. Preferred skills and qualifications - Industry certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or Google Cloud Professional Architect. - Experience with implementing and managing microservices architectures. - Experience with performance testing and optimization techniques.
