Business Unit Cubic Transportation Systems Company Details When you join Cubic you become part of a company that creates and delivers technology solutions in transportation to make people s lives easier by simplifying their daily journeys and defense capabilities to help promote mission success and safety for those who serve their nation Led by our talented teams around the world Cubic is committed to solving global issues through innovation and service to our customers and partners We have a top-tier portfolio of businesses including Cubic Transportation Systems CTS and Cubic Defense CD Explore more on Cubic com Job Details Working at Cubic Whilst working at Cubic not only will you be part of a fast growing globally recognised brand You will receive the following benefits Emphasis on Work Life Balance Health and Wellness Discounts Compensation and Recognition Awards Opportunity for Career Growth and Development The Role The Senior Software Engineer performs complex software engineering assignments following designated standards and procedures This role provides technical guidance and leadership to junior members of the team As part of a greater team the Senior Software Engineer works closely with other engineering disciplines both locally and internationally Role Responsibilities Coordinates and develops project concepts objectives specifications and resource needs Prepares design specifications analyses and recommendations Use current programming language and technologies to provide creative thorough and practical solutions to a wide range of technical problems Design develop and test applications and programs to support the company s products Design develop and test software programs following established quality standards and in accordance with internal engineering procedures including coding unit testing and software configuration control Complete high- and low-level detailed software design specifications storyboards and interface specifications Provide support of products through conception to product delivery including problem solving defect maintenance and support to customer services Prepare reports manuals procedures and status reports Role Requirements Four-year college degree in computer science computer engineering or other related technical discipline Skills Experience Knowledge 6 years related experience Experience with and understanding of the software development life-cycle Proficient C NET Visual Studio SQL Server experience table design stored procedures query optimization etc Proficient Service Broker Powers hell server-side development experience not just GUIs or Web Experience using log4net Entity Framework MS Build RESTful APIs NUnit NMock3 Web Services - HTTP TCP IP and SSL REST SOAP XML and JSON Experience in developing multi-threaded applications more than just async calls from a GUI SW Design Patterns Unit Test framework OOPs Experience debugging and troubleshooting Experience working within Agile Scrum methodologies Experience in windows service generating keys HSM Cryptographic protocols Desirable skills Experience with ASP NET MVC and Bootstrap framework Experience in developing performance critical transaction processing applications Asynchronous messaging experience Experience in developing a service-oriented architecture Experience writing simulators and test harnesses Good to have the cloud computing handson preferably on Azure Worker Type Employee
