About The Role We are seeking a talented Data Engineer to join Delta's Technology Hub, contributing to the ongoing digital transformation and data-driven decision-making initiatives. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and systems that support various analytics and reporting functions within the organization. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders, to understand their data needs and deliver innovative solutions that enhance operational efficiency and business insights. The successful candidate will be responsible for integrating and harmonizing data from multiple sources, ensuring high data quality, and leveraging cloud-based technologies to automate and optimize data workflows. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of aviation technology, supporting Delta's mission to deliver memorable customer experiences through innovative data solutions and analytics. Qualifications To succeed in this role, candidates should possess a bachelor's or master's degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Information Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field. A minimum of two years of experience as a Data Analyst or Data Engineer is required, with demonstrated proficiency in Python, including libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Seaborn, and Scikit-learn for exploratory data analysis and modeling. Experience working with SQL databases and cloud storage solutions like AWS S3 or Redshift is essential. A foundational understanding of ETL processes and data pipelines, particularly using AWS Glue, is also necessary. Preferred qualifications include hands-on experience with dashboarding tools like Amazon QuickSight, familiarity with HR data analytics, and proficiency in developing data pipelines using AWS Lambda and Glue. Knowledge of DBT (Data Build Tool) for data transformation and modeling will be considered a significant advantage. Responsibilities - Aggregate and normalize HR data from various platforms to create unified data sets that support analytics and reporting needs. - Implement data transformation and enrichment processes to improve data quality and usability for business insights. - Develop and enforce data validation and monitoring frameworks to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of data across systems. - Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data quality, latency, or system performance to maintain reliable data operations. - Collaborate with stakeholders, including data scientists, analysts, and business teams, to understand their data requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions. - Provide ongoing technical support and guidance on data-related projects, ensuring best practices are followed. - Leverage cloud-based solutions, such as AWS services, to automate workflows, streamline processes, and improve system scalability. - Maintain, optimize, and enhance existing data workflows, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements. - Stay updated with industry trends, emerging tools, and technologies in data engineering and analytics, recommending innovative solutions to enhance system performance.
