About the role
Lead a team within Property to manage Tesco&aposs energy consumption, facilitate data-driven decision making, and contribute to strategic projects aimed at reducing energy costs and carbon emissions.
You will be responsible for
- Managing energy efficiency projects and evaluate their success through effective post-investment reviews & analysis.- Optimize energy consumption and reduce costs to meet Tesco&aposs carbon targets implementing data-driven strategies.- Identify trends, anomalies & gain a deep understanding of energy usage by analyzing energy consumption data from various sources.- Collaborate with FP&A and Treasury team to develop precise energy budgets for better energy procurement across the Tesco group.- Forecast future electricity demand considering factors such as solar rollout, fit-outs, EV charging, and decarbonization initiatives.- Establish effective Energy consumption baselines for exception and drift monitoring to optimise Energy consumption of Tesco Estate.- Manage and track energy budgets with accurate forecasting of both consumption and non-consumption expenditures.- Develop new solutions to optimize energy cost & consumption and partner with external vendors such as EON, Kwiqly, SEFirst to enhance energy data quality.- Collaborate with Regional Energy Managers to analyze their energy usage and support them in making data-driven decisions.- Establish effective communication channels to engage within and across teams; Celebrate success, gather ideas and keep the team updated on new directions, policies and procedures through regular one-on-ones & team meetings.- Developing a high performing team, creating an environment for success by setting direction and coaching them to succeed through inspiring conversations every day.- Accountable for talent retention within the teams, review the workload planner and forecast the resources required to manage the work.- Promoting a CI culture and drive operational improvements.- Making decisions within policy and procedure framework to deliver business plans.
You will need
Graduate in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering or in related field is preferable.10-14 years of experience in Energy domain and relevant industry along with 4+ years managing large teams.Capability to understand and interpret problem, define Metrics / KPIs & Derive Insights from large data sets.Ability to collaborate and work across processes to achieve shared success.
Good knowledge on advance Excel, MS Office Suite, SQL & BI tools Tableau/Python/R-StudioStrong understanding on applied math, data statistics with good demonstration of analytical and problem solving skills.Strong Verbal and Written Communication.Good Knowledge on energy accounting, budget & energy project management preferably in Retail segment.Stakeholder management, Contractor management, Operations delivery, People, Policies and Process.
