Company Description At The Rook’s Academy, we believe chess is more than a game — it’s a way to build imagination, focus, and confidence. We specialize in teaching children as young as 3 years old by entering their world through stories, play, and emotions. We are seeking a dedicated Early Childhood Chess Instructor who can combine chess knowledge with storytelling and child engagement skills. Key Responsibilities - Deliver engaging online chess lessons for children aged 3–15. - Use storytelling, role-play, and voice modulation to make lessons fun and memorable. - Employ expressive body language, props, and interactive activities to hold attention. - Adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning styles and personalities. - Provide brief lesson updates to parents to reinforce at-home learning. - Collaborate with our team to develop and refine creative lesson frameworks. Qualifications - Strong understanding of basic to intermediate chess concepts (formal rating a plus, not required). - Demonstrated ability to engage and connect with young children (3–10 years). - Excellent communication and storytelling skills. - Proficiency with online teaching platforms (Zoom, Lichess, Chess.com, digital tools). - Prior experience in teaching, childcare, performing arts, or early education is an asset.
