Job Description Qualification of welding procedure and making Welding Procedure Specification in time by coordinating with the surveyor and development of general welding instructions such as welding sequence, suitable parameter, etc. Develop and document the welding procedures under classification societies. Assess the competencies of welders, identify the gaps and train them to reduce RT defects in the jobs carried out by them. Develop new methodologies to improve productivity/efficiency. Assist Production by providing Shop Weld Plan (SWP) and Welder Master List (WML) for each project. Identify and project training needs, initiate learning through knowledge sharing, supervise, monitor, appraise, motivate, ensure discipline & administrative control in order to ensure development of the individuals, team members for smooth functioning of the department. Contribute to create awareness of good quality system practices through Quality Review Meetings, Management Review Meetings and Corrective Actions in order to have efficient processes/ practices to attain consistency in manufacturing jobs, with in-built quality levels. Project and procure suitable welding equipment required for production and maintain it with respect to calibration. Test and approve use of welding consumables of various suppliers for carrying out production. Maintenance of Welding Training/Testing Centre. In addition execute any other jobs/tasks as assigned from time to time.
