Role Overview
This is a qualified legal role that combines strong expertise in commercial contracting with a disciplined approach to legal operations. The role will act as the single point of contact across the organization for legal requests and report directly to the General Counsel, who provides advisory and strategic oversight.
The incumbent will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of contracts and supporting compliance with global regulations, while also ensuring that the legal function operates in a structured, transparent, and timely manner.
Core Legal Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts (MSAs, NDAs, SOWs, data protection agreements, tri-partite agreements, etc.).
- Provide clear, business-aligned advice on legal risks and liabilities.
- Ensure contracts are risk-appropriate and compliant.
- Support dispute avoidance and escalation management in consultation with the GC.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure contracts are finalized within defined timelines.
Legal Operations & Process Management
- Establish and manage a structured intake process for all legal requests.
- Track, classify, and prioritize matters; update status systematically.
- Maintain visibility into the legal pipeline/funnel through dashboards and reports.
- Own and optimize the Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system.
- Drive accountability on timeliness and proactive delivery.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Spot risks and propose mitigation strategies in contracts and transactions.
- Research and advise on data privacy, cybersecurity, and emerging regulatory frameworks.
- Support updates to SOPs and compliance protocols in collaboration with GC and Data Protection Officer.
Collaboration & Communication
- Act as the central liaison across functions and geographies.
- Conduct legal trainings and awareness sessions.
- Provide structured legal updates to management.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's/Master's in Law from a reputed institution.
- 9+ years PQE in client/customer contract management in Tier 1 IT/ITES or Fortune 500 environments.
- Strong legal expertise combined with operational discipline.
- Familiarity with AI, SaaS, Data Privacy, Cloud, and related domains.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office, reporting tools, and contract repositories.
- Flexibility to support cross-border teams.
