Job Description

Essential:

.5+ years in AbInitio Developer role with mix of Production Support and Development projects
.Should have worked in minimum of 2 core development projects on AbInitio, in the capacity of designing solutions around AbInitio, with advanced skills in high performance and parallelism in AbInitio
.Very strong technical experience in the areas of data analysis, database design
.Sound conceptual & practical knowledge on AbInitio, Unix, Shell Scripting and Oracle
.Knowledge of EME project structure (private, public, common etc)
.Knowledge of versioning & branching in EME
.Knowledge of AbInitio standards and best practices
.Experience of managing a large project from blueprint till realization and support
.Individual contributor in a huge project or a lead in a small project

Desirable:

.DevOps experience
.Data Warehouse / Business Intelligence experience
.Understanding of Data Migration/Data Patching projects
.Knowledge of Ticket tools e.g. Remedy
.Knowledge of Change Management, Incident Management processes
.ITIL concepts and understanding
.Basic understanding of telecommunications

Role Description:

.Participate in design and architecture for development projects in AbInitio. Individual delivery responsibility from requirements capture to high level design, low level design, Performance Tuning
.Understand the ETL architecture/HLD and bring out LLD at the module level and code level
.Lead new technical initiatives within wider AbInitio toolset around Conduct>IT, DQ Framework, PDL, Metadata Management etc
.Lead multiple projects, provide roadmap, design direction
.Make design calls on performance related and operational areas
.Write / debug / fine tune AbInitio graphs
.Write / debug Unix Shell scripts
.Execute ETL scripts in Unix and AbInitio
.Prepare program specification based on HLD/LLD
.Create & manage project Sandbox(es)
.Triage and participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of Data Migration issues and perform code changes to fix them
.Support Ad-hoc requests to provide Data Extracts from Siebel/BRM database through AbInitio
.Identify bottle necks, areas of improvement and code optimization in migration process
.AbInitio code and version management, access management
.Dev, Test and Production environment management
.Ensure defect free deliverables
.Monitor and perform health checks and housekeeping on regular basis to avoid incidents
.Be proactive in supporting business requirements and associated technologies
.Escalate or interact with other relevant teams for resolution of the service request
.Support fulfilment of SLA parameters
.Compliance with standard process and practice

.Due to the high visibility of the position, the candidate must possess superior communication and interpersonal skills as they will be interacting with people with diverse skills and seniority. Sometimes ambiguous environment means that the candidate should also be experienced with multi-tasking, balancing tasks with priorities accordingly
.Experience working on several projects at the same time is required
