Risk Compliance - Financial crime detection Principal responsibilities In this role you will The role holder is responsible for investigating escalated Level 3 alerts for Customer screening Transaction screening Trade payments screening Securities screening Third Party and Staff screening to determine whether the alert is a true match or a false positive by following Global Sanctions Policy and Procedures for Sanctions alert investigation The role holder is responsible for the management of Sanctions activities within the Sanctions Center of Excellence CoE The role holder will support the second line of defence oversight of sanctions risk within the Region through the application of the alert adjudication activities The role holder contributes to Regional compliance with Policy external Sanctions regulations applied Regionally and oversight of compliance with local Sanctions regulation at Country level through Fulfilling and executing required Regional level alert investigation Following Global Standards on the decision making of false positives that have reached Level 3 Effectively supporting the Alert investigations Lead s and providing subject matter expertise to the implementation of globally led Sanctions change initiatives within Region and more specifically within Regional Alert Investigations Team Fulfilling required Regional level Policy management activities Ensure full adherence to Global Standards Policy within Region including but not limited to related Sanctions Guidance and Operating Procedures Support Alert Investigation Lead s in identifying Sanctions themes and trends Where identified escalate Sanctions breaches in the appropriate manner to the required escalation point Ensure that all work is completed within agreed SLA s with appropriate escalation and mitigating actions for items not meeting SLA s Fulfilling screening and alert investigation activities Assist Regional Investigations Lead s with the periodic review of the Sanctions Standards with regards to procedures risk based approaches and QA FCC Function second line of defence Work closely with Regional Alert Investigations Lead to provide assistance in working with the FCC Monitoring Testing function and FCC Assurance to ensure effective deployment of system and procedural changes as required Third line of Defence Support senior management in engagement with internal audit by supplying information in a timely and accurate manner as required and requested Leadership Teamwork Support the delivery of the Global strategy for the FCC Sanctions function into the Region Ensure development activities are a core priority and ensure reasonable time is taken for learning and developmental activities Develop positive and professional working relationships with all team members and colleagues at a Regional and Country level Foster positive and professional working relationships within FCC and other Sanctions Teams at a Regional Level HSBC experience Sound knowledge and experience on Trade business in globally and finance for accounts receivable Knowledge of Sanctions regulations and guidance Knowledge of SWIFT or Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication code messages is a must Experience within the financial services industry Lateral thinker with an ability to interpret and solve complex issues High level of English language skills Local language proficiency will be considered Excellent communicaton with strong interpersonal and influencing skill Ability to adapt to change and provide input where
