As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Payments Technology team, you are an integral part of an agile team dedicated to enhancing, building, and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. Job responsibilities - Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems - Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others - Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems - Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability for use within existing systems and information architecture - Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies - Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills - Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience - Proficiently manage all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle. - Development expertise, with specific focus on Java technology (Core & EE) with Spring Frameworks (Spring Core & Spring Boot). - Strong oral and written communication skills, including technical documentation. - Deep understanding of relational DB (PostgreSQL & Oracle) and Stored Procedures. - Strong knowledge and application of SCM & Build tools (Maven, Jenkins, Git, Subversion, SONAR) DevOps knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment. - Experience with microservices, integration patterns, and messaging technologies (e.g., JMS, MQ Series, Kafka). - Experience with job scheduling technologies like Autosys and Control-M and testing tools like Mockito or JMeter. - Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals, and passionate about building an innovative culture. - Experience working in an Agile Environment. Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and Skills: - Experience with caching solutions. - Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD). - UI development experience. - Experience in UNIX and scripting languages (Shell, Perl). - Cloud Development Experience.
