Key responsibilities include performing surgeries on organs like the stomach, intestines, liver, and pancreas; conducting diagnostic endoscopies and colonoscopies; developing treatment plans; and collaborating with other specialists. Essential skills include advanced surgical dexterity, strong diagnostic and clinical judgment, and excellent communication. Responsibilities Job description - Diagnosis and treatment: Diagnose and treat a wide range of GI disorders, including cancers, inflammatory bowel disease, and liver diseases. - Surgical procedures: Perform complex surgical interventions on the esophagus, stomach, intestines, colon, liver, pancreas, and biliary system. - Endoscopic procedures: Conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures like upper GI endoscopies, colonoscopies, and biopsies. - Patient management: Manage patient care, from initial assessment to long-term follow-up, and develop individualized treatment plans. - Collaboration: Work with other healthcare professionals, such as oncologists and primary care physicians, to provide comprehensive care. - Leadership and research: Supervise and mentor junior staff, participate in clinical research, and stay current with the latest medical advancements.
