Experience in multi-axis machining and wire EDM operations is essential to deliver high-quality components within production timelines. Key Responsibilities A. CNC Machine Operation Set up and operate DMG MORI 3-Axis and 5-Axis CNC machines for precision machining. Operate wire-cutting machines with Fanuc controls to achieve tight tolerances. Interpret engineering drawings, CAD/CAM files, and process sheets to execute machining operations accurately. Select appropriate cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, and speeds/feeds for different materials. Monitor machine operations to ensure consistent part quality and precision. Perform in-process inspection of machined components using precision measuring instruments like Vernier calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and CMM machines. B. Programming & Setup Support Understand Fanuc CNC codes and DMG MORI interface operations. Load, edit, and troubleshoot CNC programs as per production requirements. Assist in developing optimized machining sequences to reduce cycle times and improve tool life. Set up workpieces, zero offsets, and verify tool paths before running production. C. Wire EDM (Wire-Cut) Operations Operate wire EDM machines effectively to produce complex geometries. Configure wire-cutting parameters for precision cutting of die components, molds, and intricate parts. Maintain correct tension, flushing, and wire feed rates to ensure smooth and accurate cutting. Ensure EDM components meet tolerance, finish, and dimensional accuracy requirements. D. Quality Control & Inspection Ensure that all parts produced comply with engineering specifications and ISO quality standards. Perform first-off inspection, in-process quality checks, and final part validation. Maintain records of inspection results and ensure parts are free from defects. Report deviations and coordinate with the Quality Assurance team for corrective actions. E. Machine Maintenance Perform routine preventive maintenance of DMG MORI CNC machines and wire-cutting equipment. Ensure proper lubrication, cleaning, and upkeep of machines. Diagnose and report equipment malfunctions to the maintenance department. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times. F. Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate production logs, tool usage records, and inspection reports. Update daily machine performance metrics and report deviations to the supervisor. Follow company SOPs and document process changes when necessary. G. Safety & Compliance Follow safety guidelines while operating high-speed CNC and EDM machines. Wear appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations. Immediately report potential hazards or unsafe machine conditions. Adhere to ISO, OSHA, and other statutory compliance standards. Required Skills & Competencies Technical Skills Hands-on experience with DMG MORI 3-Axis & 5-Axis CNC machines. Proficiency in Fanuc control systems for both CNC machining and wire cutting. Understanding of G-code, M-code, and basic CNC programming. Ability to interpret technical drawings, 3D CAD models, and process sheets. Knowledge of cutting tools, machining parameters, and material properties. Familiarity with CMM, profile projectors, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision measuring tools. Soft Skills Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Good communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with programmers, supervisors, and QA teams. Attention to detail and commitment to quality output.
