This exciting new post is a great opportunity for someone who has interest in the application of digital therapies to improve access to psychological care. It is an exciting opportunity to employ quality improvement methodology and leadership to test change ideas and implement spread of this approach. The successful candidate will work with the Consultant Clinical Psychologist in Primary Care and other Psychology Leads to develop and implement a digital therapy strategy for NHS Borders. The post holder will work with a team of assistant psychologists and liaise with other health professionals to implement this strategy and widen access to evidence based digital therapies across the NHS Borders area within appropriate governance structures. Renew, our primary care psychology service is managed by a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and is comprised of; 8B Senior Psychologist x 2, 4x 8a Clinical/Counselling Psychologists, 10 x CAAPs, 1xMental Health Practitioner, 5x PIATSs and 4 x Assistant Psychologists; providing assessment and treatment to primary care patients with mental health needs. We are looking for a suitably qualified psychologist who has knowledge and experience of evidence based digital psychological therapies and their application. The successful candidate will have significant experience of working psychologically with people and experience and interest in the use of quality improvement methodology to provide leadership and support change. It is essential that the post holder has considerable experience of providing clinical supervision to trainee and qualified psychologists as well as professionals from other disciplines. NHS Borders Psychology Service is a dynamic and supportive service which aims to offer delivery, training and supervision in psychological therapies to the population of NHS Borders. The Scottish Borders area is largely rural with a population of approximately 115,000 people. We are in easy reach of Edinburgh with many of our staff based in the capital.
