Job Category Enterprise About the Company Pearson is a global education company that helps people around the world to make progress in their lives through learning With a rich heritage that combines 150 years of experience in publishing with the latest learning technology and digital services we help people to learn whatever wherever and however they choose We are now transforming Pearson to accelerate our activity in digital learning education services and emerging markets This will enable us to make a lasting impact in helping to solve some of the most important challenges in global education We believe education is a vital force that can empower people help them to reach their potential and contribute to more connected communities all around the world Our strength comes from our outstanding people our strong relationships in the education world our expertise in using technology to help people learn our global footprint and local reach and our position as a profitable global company with a unifying sense of purpose We re investing in our technology and infrastructure By working at Pearson you have a unique chance to make a real difference to the lives of people all over the world Summary Description of Role Pearson s Workplace team are responsible for ensuring that our real estate portfolio and associated services are effectively managed to enable our people to do their best work in healthy and productive environments The Senior Workplace Analyst is an important member of the Central Workplace team who supports financial data driven insights and analysis across Workplace Principal Responsibilities The Senior Workplace Analyst will in collaboration with regional central teams and external colleagues support the Workplace teams to use data to drive decision making and ensure both financial and operational commitments are measured monitored and delivered In all instances the Senior Workplace Analyst shall work collaboratively with Workplace colleagues PFS Technical Accounting Financial Control and Project Accounting teams to leverage best practice expertise and conform to central policies governance and reporting requirements The Senior Workplace Analyst s role will cover Budget and Forecast Preparation and Maintenance The Senior Workplace Analyst shall support the Regional Workplace teams and have responsibility to establish track and monitor budgets and forecast to ensure that commitments are met and issues escalated in a timely manner Material cost variances will be understood reported and escalated as necessary The Senior Workplace Analyst will support the tracking of risks and opportunities The foregoing shall include raising Capital Projects and Purchase Orders and maintaining the same Portfolio Management Reporting The Senior Workplace Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Regional Workplace teams by producing timely and accurate reporting and tracking in collaboration with central colleagues regarding in region workplace activity - including sublet income transactions and projects ensuring that the team meets the needs of the business Business Case Support The Senior Workplace Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Regional Workplace team in the development of business cases - together with monitoring tracking and reporting of approved financial commitments The foregoing shall include raising Capital Projects and Purchase Orders and maintaining the same Client relationship management The Senior Workplace analyst will support the Regional Managers and Regional Directors on operating expense topics which may include providing regular repots and or attendance at key meetings Administration - The Senior Workplace Manager will be responsible for ensuring Purchase orders are raised in a timely manner and goods receipted appropriately Suggest ways to improve ways of working to ensure costs are captured accurately in year Project Support The Senior Workplace Analyst may be asked to support regional projects and initiatives from time to time - overseeing third party execution resources Coordination Planning The Senior Workplace Analyst will support the coordination of and attend regular meetings with PFS Regional Managers Regional Directors and Central colleagues as applicable Vendor Performance Governance The Senior Workplace Analyst will support monthly quarterly and annual business reviews between Pearson and its partners in coordination with the central team Qualifications Experience Minimum of 4 years directly relevant experience in equivalent roles Strong financial and modelling skills with requisite experience and or qualifications Evidence of having worked across all elements of this role Track record of working successfully in international teams within a matrix structure Strong analytical skills and data driven storytelling ability Strong communication and relationship building skills with the ability to effectively influence at all levels internally externally Evidence of driving tangible continuous improvement across people processes and systems Excellent written presentation skills including proficiency in relevant PC skills Microsoft Office Excel Project Management tools pivot tables and look ups projections benchmarking simple statistics etc Proactive outcome focused and accountable LI-TW1
