Core responsibilities - Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes:Create and manage automated workflows that extract data from different sources, transform it into a usable format, and load it into a data warehouse or database. - Ensure data quality and integrity:Implement checks and validation to clean, standardize, and verify data accuracy throughout the process. - Collaborate with stakeholders:Work with business analysts and other teams to understand their data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs. - Optimize performance:Fine-tune SQL queries, reduce data load times, and analyze bottlenecks to improve the efficiency of ETL processes. - Troubleshoot and monitor:Identify and resolve issues in the ETL pipeline to ensure reliability and efficiency. - Maintain documentation:Create and update documentation for ETL processes and BI solutions. Key skills and qualifications - Technical skills: SQL:Strong proficiency, including query performance tuning and optimization. - ETL Tools:Experience with tools such as Informatica, SSIS, or Talend. - Scripting:Proficiency in languages like Python, Perl, or Shell scripting is often beneficial. - Databases:Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle) and understanding of database architecture. - Analytical and problem-solving skills:Ability to analyze complex data structures and solve problems. - Communication skills:Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
