Job Description: Automation Test Architect – EMS/NMS Application Location: Remote Experience: 8+ Years Role: Test Automation Architect About the Role We are looking for an experienced Automation Test Architect to lead the design, development, and implementation of our end-to-end automation framework for the EMS/NMS Application supporting Optical and RF devices. The role is critical for ensuring high reliability, performance, and scalability of our hybrid communication solutions. The ideal candidate must have strong expertise in automation strategy, networking (L1–L3), embedded testing, cloud, and CI/CD. Mandatory Skills - NMS/EMS Automation - Network Simulation/Emulation - L1/L2 Network Testing - Embedded Testing - L2/L3 Protocols, Interoperability & Traffic Generation Tools Key Responsibilities 1. Test Strategy & Architecture - Define and enhance the automation strategy across UI, backend, APIs (gRPC, gNMI), and infra layers. - Build scalable, modular, and reusable automation frameworks for AngularJS (Web), ElectronJS (Desktop), Node.js, GoLang, and gRPC services. - Select tools, libraries, and technologies supporting unit, integration, system, regression, and performance testing. 2. CI/CD Integration - Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Google Cloud Build). - Develop automated deployment & testing environments in GCP/GKE. - Optimize automation execution and reporting within the CI/CD lifecycle. 3. Automation Development & Execution - Identify automation opportunities across functional, integration, failover, and failback scenarios. - Oversee the development and execution of automated test suites. - Ensure end-to-end test coverage across all application layers. 4. Technical Leadership - Lead and mentor automation engineers and QA teams. - Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices. - Evaluate emerging testing tools, frameworks, and technologies. 5. Reporting & Quality Analytics - Build and maintain dashboards/reports showing test execution, coverage, and quality metrics. - Track and analyze automation KPIs to improve overall product quality. Technical Expertise Required Automation Frameworks - UI/E2E: Cypress, Spectron - API/Backend: Robot Framework, Jest, Mocha/Chai, Super test - Go Lang Testing: Go testing package, Testify - gRPC/gNMI Testing: Custom gRPC clients, gNMI validation Programming - Python - JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js, AngularJS, ElectronJS) - GoLang Cloud & Containers - Google Cloud Platform (GCP), GKE - Docker - Terratest, Testcontainers Database Testing - CouchDB, MongoDB - Prometheus/Thanos (time-series DB validation) Networking - Knowledge of Optical/RF networking concepts - gRPC, gNMI, SSH, SFTP Nice-to-Have - Performance testing: JMeter, k6, Locust - Basic security testing (AuthN/AuthZ) Architectural & Methodological Skills - Designing automation frameworks from scratch - Strong understanding of QA methodologies - Test data management strategies - Expertise in mocking, stubbing & simulation - Experience in Agile/Scrum practices Qualifications - Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field - 8+ years of experience in QA/automation - Minimum 3–5 years in designing complex test automation frameworks - Strong experience integrating automation with CI/CD pipelines
